Dear TexStudio developers,

I just updated TeXStudio to the latest v2.11.2 on my Window 10 Thinkpad P50 machine. Everything in Texstudio doesn't look right after the update. The fonts become blur, no matter if I put it in the primary monitor or the second monitor, no matter I change the size of the window or maximize the screen out. See the attached screensnap (left is the nomal looking on another program, righ is the TeXStudio with blur fonts in texeditor window and the pdf preview window). The fonts in the selected section on the TeX-editor window seems ok, but not elsewhere.

Everything was fine in V2.11.0 before this update. My monitor has a resolution of 1680X1050 on the secondary screen (right side in the screen shot), and 19020X1080 on the primary screen. NVidia M1000M GPU is in use. Is this a GPU driver problem or a problem with TeXStudio?

Let me know how can I help debugging. I will roll back to v2.11.0 soon.

Thanks!
Qi

Sorry, the screen shot is attached here...

I infere, you are using a dual screen setup.

    • Does it also happen with a single screen?
    • Are you using UI scaling of windows (125%, 150%, ...) on any of your screens?

    • It's the same problem when I use the single-screen setup.

    • On the Computer's screen setting, the minimum scaling of windows on any of my screen is 125%. This might cause a problem, but I cannot make it smaller for some unknown reason.

    Thanks for the reply.

Try activating Options -> Advanced Editor -> Hacks / Workarounds -> Disable cache of rendered lines. The line cache does currently not render depending on the scaling. It renders at 100% scaling and scales the resulting pixel image up to the required size.
But that should have been the case ever since (not new to 2.11.2).

@Tim Hoffmann, I did have disabled the cached lines, but this only fixed the font scaling problem in the tex editor window -- not on the pdf preview window. I haven't found any option that works for the pdf window so far. Thanks.

That is to be expected since this option does only affect the edior.

I don't think there are any options to manipulate the rendering behavior of the viewer. However, I could not reproduce the issue there. Try zooming in and out. Does it apply to all zoom factors of the viewer?

I think this is a driver probelm--nothing to do with TeXstudio. I fixed this issue by updating my Intel management driver. Sorry about that. Feel free to close this issue :)

I am having this exact problem and none of the suggested solutions work. I spent way too much time trying to find any driver that might need updating but none do. I've tried messing with the setting suggested here as well. I'm also running the most up to date TexStudio. The only thing that worked for a little while was runing the Compatibility Troubleshooter, but the fix was not permanent because if I closed and restarted it would go away and the troubleshooter doesn't work anymore.

Any help to fix this annoying as hell bug would be greatly appreciated.
