Dear Terreno users During the mesh generation with shore and terreno commands, I have some difficulties as follows; 1. Regarding the "shore" command, is the -b option available? I have used the terreno from svn and tried to use -b option with -W gshhs_f.b data. But the shore cmd said -b is invalid option. It seems the -b option is not available with my terreno version. What I want to do is that to generate a mesh with GSHHS shoreline and GEBCO 30arc-sec data for bathymetry. Any help will be appreciated. 2. At the moment, I am not sure if I understand the shore cmd correctly or not on the -f/W/w options. if any one of -f/W/w options is used for the shoreline data, then I think it is fine. Do I understand correctly? With the following command, I have an error in shore cmd step which I think because of -b option. ../../../bin/shore -d 50/80/500 -M 100 -p -W gshhs_f.b -c $contour -v error: gshhs: Error reading file gshhs_f.b for polygon 32282917, point 10206189. 3. Regarding the -M option, could anyone explain much easy to understand what it is for? Any comments will be very appreciated. Hi You might have noticed some issues with the shoreline recovery if you were using the cvs version of the code. I've found+fixed the source of the problem so you might want to cvs update. I have also fixed the ncurses build issue - if your machine doesn't have ncurses dev packages the relevant code is now #defined away. Cheers Gerard |

Hi Fokes I've just released Terreno-1.1.0: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=131014 New features include: - Option to locally smooth bathymetry. - Option to generate hybrid z/sigma-coordinate volume meshes. - Option to deform the free surface for tsunami initialization. - Tool for converting the output of GMT's triangulate command into a VTU file, triangulate2vtu. This is typically used when merging datasets of multiple resolution. All comments, suggestions and questions are welcome. Cheers Gerard |
