Is there anything you learned during a renovation because you messed up before?

In other words, is there something you can do well now because you learned from your own mistakes and experience? For me it’s wallpaper. And my biggest mistake was thinking I could put it up myself. Now it’s pros only.

I think I could pick out the whole renovation thing, honestly. It’s just not for me. But I did learn how to drill into tile like a pro. After I wrecked half the tiles in my bathroom.

I wouldn’t recommend tiling a floor to anyone who doesn’t know how to do it. At least watch some tutorials on YouTube. My biggest mistake was using pressure sensitive flooring adhesive wrong, because I didn’t read the instructions carefully and started laying the tiles before the glue had dried. Of course, it was only halfway through the job and all my suffering that I read it and realized I should’ve waited until it got slightly tacky.
