We started recently playing with funambol and I have found mixed documentation a lot. Which is the latest BB plug-in funambol-blackberry-plugin-3.0.8.zip or funambol-bb-pim-plugin-6.6.0.zip? There are big differences in the version numbers, so no idea which is good. Also, What exactly are you supposed to enter as parameters for the ExchangeOfficer.xml file, the documentation provided is very vague, perhaps someone can share a sample configuration. Our settings are simple, one single Exchange 2003 server, OWA is accessed via SSL and funambol is on the same physical server as Exchange is. Regards, Paul |

I'm wondering if its not the client, but rather the my.funambol service that is not pushing properly. I've gone back to using an Exchange Server for now, but would love to see this working properly, especially with a hosted service like My.Funambol. Can anyone verify that tasks and calendar items push to a WM device when using MyFunambol? --- Andrea Gazzaniga <ag...@gm...> wrote: > Ciao, > > On Tue, May 6, 2008 at 9:49 PM, mztg <mz...@ya...> > wrote: > > > Hey, I was wondering if anyone here knew if and when > the > > following features were on the road map to being > released > > for the WM version of Funambol: > > > > 1) Html email - WM 6.1 introduced full html support for > all > > its messaging inboxes, including pop3 and imap. > > Funambol, apparently, makes it revert the inbox back to > > text only. Testing with the latest Synthesis client works just fine, new events and changes to existing events are successfully replicated in both directions. Okay, having some problems syncing with eGroupWare-1.4.004-15.1 on Centos 5 FROM a windows mobile 5 pda running the 6.5.18 client. I can sync in both directions from Lightning 0.8 and the funambol pim addin to egw without issue, but for the pda it's only works in 1 direction. Not sure if this is a problem with the syncml server used on egw or the winmobile client. It looks like the logging option was removed after the the 6.x client was released and 6.0 was the last client I remember with logging capabilities as one of the menu items. As an aside for those that are struggling with the events being off timezone wise when syncing from lightning to windows mobile, the egw folks don't have this problem when syncing through their syncml server. Logs below are after modifiying an event on the pda and creating a new one and then syncing just the calendar in the funambol client. Hi all, I'd like to uninstall the SugarcrmConnector and install the newest one. The last time I tried this I would up with a broken ds_server, so I thought I ask here first. I'm on Windows, and the command I used to install was d:\programs\Funambol\ds-server\> set PATH=%PATH%;bin d:\programs\Funambol\ds-server\> install-modules.cmd tomcat55 Is it just the same command? PS: You can see that the funambol_ds_server_administration_guide.pdf is a bit lacking in this department: Uninstalling a Module To uninstall a module, perform the following: 1. Open the <DS_SERVER_HOME>\install.properties file. 2. Find the modules-to-install= property and delete the module from the comma- separated list. 3. Save and close install.properties. _4. Reinstall the application server and rebuild the database._ (huh?!) NOTE: The modules-to-uninstall= property in the install.properties file currently is ignored, but may be implemented in future releases. Thanks in advance! -- |

I don't appear to be getting copies of my email on this list. I don't know if anyone is receiving my requests/help. Is anyone seeing these? The mail list option: "Receive your own posts to the list?" is set to Yes but not getting them. If you are reading this then please email me directly and copy the list - I don't want millions of replies ;) Thanks, David --------------------------------------- Managing Director +44 (0) 7866 262 398 BigSoft Limited Reading, UK http://www.bigsoft.co.uk/ Registered in Cardiff, Wales 3960621 |

If your client computer runs on Linux, you can just "ssh -Y" into your server and then start the Java application, which will then appear on your client's X display. With Windows, an option would be to download Cygwin/X (http://www.cygwin.com/) to your client computer. Inside Cygwin, do a "startx" to start the X server, then use "ssh -Y" like you would on Linux. Note however that X can be slow over Internet or VPN connections. Markus |

I started recently playing with funambol and I have found mixed documentation a lot. Our settings are simple, one single Exchange 2003 server. Regards, Paul |

Hi, you need to set all the environment/system properties as in the ds-server installation (in particular, for this error, the system property funambol.home seems not set or not correctly set) See Funambol/ds-server/start.cmd[.sh]. Hi All, I want to deploy Funambol DS on some servers, one install DB, one install DS service , and one contains Web module (web client). I succeeded when install DB and Funambol DS (DS service + Web client) on two servers separately, but in case with three servers(DB, DS service, Web client), it's fail. When starting web client and login, tomcat says: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: The given file is not a directory at com.funambol.server.tools.directorymonitor.DirectoryMonitor.<init>(DirectoryMonitor.java:82) at com.funambol.server.tools.directorymonitor.DirectoryMonitor.<init>(DirectoryMonitor.java:102) at com.funambol.server.config.Configuration.<init>(Configuration.java:185) at com.funambol.server.config.Configuration.getConfiguration(Configuration.java:204) I think reason is web client hasn't enough config parameters when running. Any one show me some hints. Thanks, Hinh Nguyen. |

Hi, I searched this list archives to find how to remote access to Funambol server administration module. I could read this : http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.java.sync4j.user/4803/match=remote+access+administration but this information is a bit general for me : I'm not familiar with either Funambol or Tomcat ... My question is : 1. Can I open locally a web browser and use a remote Funambol Administration module ? 2. Which URL shall I use for that ? Regards |

Hi Sebastian, Hi Andrea, if the 407 error code is in the syncml message means missing credentials that is the client doesn't send its credentials. The client should send its credential in the next message. A full log is useful. ste Andrea Gazzaniga wrote: > Ciao, > error http 407 means proxy authentication required. This means probably that you are connecting to the server passing through a proxy server, even if it seems the server you are connecting to is within your local network. If you are using Thunderbird on Windows, it uses the proxy settings of Internet Explorer, and thus you can tell not to use proxy for local addresses and so on. For the Android emulator (are you using that or a real device?) it should be the same but actually I never test it myself. Did you see the frames going to a proxy in the plain wireshark dump? Thanks, A. Here is the unanswered question again, in case that you missed it on the developers list: Will there be a sync URI which sends and receives iCalendar 2.0 or will the normal calendar URI be changed so that it sends iCalendar 2.0 when the client indicates that it can only handle iCalendar 2.0? >From a user's perspective the question is: do they have to reconfigure their clients (SyncEvolution and Thunderbird) to use a different URI, or will everything work automatically after the upgrade of myFUNAMBOL? BTW, is the spelling myFunambol or myFUNAMBOL? -- Bye, Patrick Ohly -- Pat...@gm... http://www.estamos.de/ |

Any idea what causes the following error upon opening the plugin? "Failed to create empty document" We've seen this for a handful of users (<3%). I've been able to do some research and determine it's related to the UI and some windows library (did this search some time ago, so the details are fuzzy). Everything I found, though, was ancient. This error occurs in a popup, after which the plugin terminates. No details are logged. Please let me know what other information you might need to diagnose this. Ideas? ~Mike Taczak |

Hello, I'm not sure if this is the right mailinglist. I have a problem with using http://code.google.com/p/funambol/ on my androidphone and i hope you can help me. As far as i can tell this issue isn't related to android, nor my serverside, but rather the funambol library behind. When trying to sync with a proprietary (non funambol) syncml-server, the server gives me a 407 in the second xml-response (Authentication required). I compared my syncml traffic to the traffic of the funambol thunderbird client (which works fine) and can't find the error. As i just startet using funambol, I am not a professional when it comes to the protocol (I'm writing my diploma atm and really hope for some help). As i unterstand, the authentication takes place in the first request in the <Cred> part. This part is exactly the same in my version and thunderbirds request. So why am I getting a 407, and thunderbird syncs? Is there something more to do to authenticate? I posted the rather lengthy wireshark log on http://pastebin.com/f6474d0d6 Is someone familiar enough with the protocol to hint me to an error? Regards, Sebastian |

Perhaps the answer was not clear:the timezone support is under development and so far it is foreseen for Capri release. Everything will go on myFunambol, so the question is not 'whether' but ' when' : I don't have a precise ETA not, but usually this happen more or less one month after GA. Considering the summer holidays, this may be delayed a bit. A. This is one of the known problems in that combination: http://www.estamos.de/projects/SyncML/Compatibility.html#Compatible+SyncML+Servers SyncEvolution and Evolution itself use the iCalendar 2.0 format for events and todos. myFUNAMBOL uses vCalendar 1.0. Both have some support for parsing incoming items in the other format, so exchanging data is possible in principle, but be prepared to run into problems: * Time zone information is sent by SyncEvolution, but not used by myFUNAMBOL and not preserved. Make sure that client and server are set to the same time zone to mitigate the problem. This is not going to help with events which were scheduled in different time zones. * Importing items with special characters into Evolution scrambles these characters because Evolution does not handle the vCalendar 1.0 encoding of these characters. * Sending such items with a broken encoding back to the server can cause a parser exception on the server. * Alarms get lost, probably regardless in which direction the events are sent. * The information that an event is an all-day event gets lost. Warning Because of these problems it is not recommended to synchronize events and tasks with myFUNAMBOL. Users of a local Funambol installation might be able to avoid the encoding problems by configuring their server as described by Mauro, but this has not been tested; the problem with ignored time zones and lost alarms will persist. Hopefully the situation will improve with the next Funambol server releases, which will have better iCalendar 2.0 support. Whether myFUNAMBOL will offer that remains to be seen: I asked the developers, but didn't get a reply. -- Bye, Patrick Ohly -- Pat...@gm... http://www.estamos.de/ |

Good day, i'm trying to synchronize a server funambol with “evolution” across of Syncevolution, everything works fine, but when I verify synchronization of calendar, can be seen from the server a difference 4 hours regarding the originally introduced in the evolution. By what i have be seen syncevolution worked with iCalendar and funambol with Vcalendar, so i think it is a problem of interpretation. Greetings. |
