I would like to use SW3D to plan the electrical equipment and layout of a home (e.g. placement of wall switches, wall power outlets, lights...). Currently, I can place light sources, switches, outlets etc. using the library items. However, i cannot attach any additional information about their functionality (e.g. for a switch: switches light xyz). Furthermore, I would like to have an attribute for a structured numbering (actually, I am "mis"using the naming field for that) and maybe one or two other attributes.
I would use the csv output to generate a list of electrical items which I can process further. Actually, I am planning our KNX house automation system using SH3D exported data.
It would also be a great idea to do the electrical wireing planning with SH3D (connecting light sources, power outlets etc. to the power distribution cabinet; calculating cable lengths using some rules (e.g. cables should be run horizontally / vertically in a wall).
Please feel free to discuss this use case further if this feature request is accepted.

Version 5.3 added modifiable properties on all home objects.
At the moment, these properties are accessible only to programmers through the methods of the new HomeObject super class, but you could create a plug-in able to edit these properties.

The same idea can be applied to plumbing, gas and sewers
