Dungeon Builder v5 Alpha Library,
Well, here it is, I am release this thing to the general public to see what may comes of it.
I am an avid player of D&D and MMORPGS, and I always wanted to be able to build the dungeon maps like those of Diablo for use with tabletop gaming. I never did find a software package that was easy to use, and allowed me to build my own environments as easily as Sweet Home 3D does.
So I took to the software and started designing rooms and hallways, adding textures and building that dungeon. After a couple of months, on and off again, I final have enough basic models to show the potential of this library pack for someone else to use. I have made it 90% just drag and drop, to start building your dungeon.
All you have to do, is figure out what your Lowest level will look like and work BACKWARDS in levels from there. Layer 1 will be your lowest level Layer 5 can be your top level and so on.
This is a first release of this library anywhere on the net. So it goes without saying, it not the best, but I am hoping with community input and feedback, I can or we can make it better.
Thank you to the Sweet Home 3D dev team for this opertunitiy to use your tools to make something that it really was not designed for, but shows that power of the imagination when it come to making software do things it really was not designed for.
All models in the library where created with Sweet Home 3D. Exported as .OBJ files, Imported back in, tested, tweaked and set for library catalog. The Furniture Library Editior 2.0 was used to package these models. So there should be no issue with these models on version 5.4 ot 5.3 or 5.2, older than that, and you are on your own.
Again, Thank You Dev Team for this tool.
Sincerely;
John
Thanks John for this interesting library :)
I hope some fans of D&D will find it useful, as well as some users who want to build a castle by assembling subparts.
As a side note, I would like to recall that a SH3F file is just a ZIP file, in which anyone can pick the 3D models you created to use them in other 3D software too.
Just to be sure, please confirm that all the texture images included in this library are available under a license that allows you to redistribute them.
Dear User,
To answer question about the 2 main textures found in the project, I will be including links to the original source locations per request.
