Did you try the official distribution available at http://www.sweethome3d.com/download.jsp?
Thanks for your quick answer.
I just installed the official distribution, after removing the one from Synaptic packege manager. Right at opening, I got a 3D error message due to my graphic card drivers that may need upgrade (see screen copy attached). I'll try to do that and report later to this thread.
Thanks again.
Please try the second script
SweetHome3D-Java3D-1_5_2I was (happily) running Nvidia proprietary driver 390 on my multiscreen desktop. I replaced them with the X.Org X server (which screwed up my displays), and ran sh3d again. Same problem: no 3D. I went back to Nvidia 390, removed sh3d and reinstalled the sh3d vf6.2 from the Ubuntu Software program (see attached .png), and et voilà, everything worked flawlessly!
Next time, I promess I'll make sure I install the last available version before complaining...
Addendum: strangely, Sweet Home 3D v6.1.2 installed on my laptop worked perfectly on my file, whereas the desktop version was unable to display 3D.
Thanks again for this great program.
Philippe
