#744 Sweet Home 3D doesn't run on OS X Yosemite

Sweet Home 3D doesn't run at all on OS X 10.10.5.
I get this error when I run it from Terminal:
LSOpenURLsWithRole() failed with error -10658 for the file /Applications/Sweet Home 3D.app.

This is with the latest version: v5.4.

Did you install Apple Java 6?
If you prefer to use Oracle Java 8, then use the Java Web Start version.

I just updated to the latest Java version through System Preferences. I don't prefer any specific version. I see now that I have version 8 installed. I did figure out that I could run the Web Start version. My point is mostly that the error message is very unhelpful and I also didn't read anywhere that you have to use Java 6, or use 8 with web start. It would be helpful if that information was clearly shown somewhere during download/install/running.

Also, I updated my Java version AFTER posting this issue. When I then tried to run it from the Terminal, I was greeted with this even less helpful message:
No Java runtime present, requesting install.
2017-05-14 15:57:28.690 SweetHome3D[19765:1095220] JLRequestRuntimeInstall: CFMessagePortSendRequest: error -1

Either way, I figured out how to run it, but better error messages might have helped.
