Display Corrupted
An interior design application to draw house plans & arrange furniture
Brought to you by:

It's probably an issue in the video driver.
Try using the 32 bit version with Java Web Start and DirectX (see FAQ).
Same here.
Win 7 ultimate, R9 270 powercollor.
Richard or Daniel, did you try the solution I proposed?
Yes, it didn't help. I ended up uninstalling then installing again and now have a new problem in that it won't load up one of my plans.
Same here again. It did't help and it disabled the 3d preview, I can still open my old projects though.
Tried the 5.1 version with no sucess.
Foud a "solution", if I can call it that. The latest version that worked is 3.4!!! I'm not sure how much features I'm losing because of this, but such an old version... I bet is a lot.
I have the same issue.
Sweet Home 5.2a
My System: Windows 10 Enterprise 64 bits, 16GB DDR4, I7-6700, nvidia GTX 970 - Driver 372.90

Is that it then?
No more input from devs?
There are no devs, only one developer.
I proposed a solution that some users reported it worked. At the moment I have no other solution in mind. It must be an issue in your driver. I dream that Sweet Home 3D can work everywhere, but like for many other 3D programs, I must admit that this goal seems unreachable.
By the way, Richard, you're not very helpful. You didn't even describe your system and the versions you use.
Thanks for the replies Emmanuel.
I am running v5.2a and my PC configuration is exactly the same as Belini Fagundes de Mello's.
I can imagine it's a nightmare trying to get it working for all configurations, on different platforms and in different languages. Good luck with that.
I'll try reverting back to v3.4 as Daniel Fioravanti suggested, but I'm not confident that even that version will read the currently unreadable plan.
This screen corruption problem occurs suddenly. And no need to make any excepecional operation, just the simple movement of the mouse causes it. Sometimes it can take 1 or 2 minutes to experience the problem.
Updated driver for the 373.06 and the problem continues.
Look the Att.
Please try the version 5.3 beta 7 available here. It comes with a new version of Java3D that could fix your issue.
Version 5.3 was released yesterday. Could you try it please?
I'm suffering from the same visual corruption in the whole app. Even under version 5.4
Windows 10, java version 1.8.0_25. Unusable. Tried version 5.2, web start, 32, 64 bit. Its the same.
Edit: it seems java reinstall solved the problem. uninstalled all versions, and installed newest 32 and 64 bit, and disabled 64 bit one on java configuration panel

Hey,
having exact the same Problem here. Its unusable under Windows 10 x64. I tried Bela Veg's solution, not working. Only way to run it, is with virtual Windows 7 machine.
I also tried older Versions and the portable x86 and x64.... no luck.
It appears at the moment, when i create the first wall and then hover the mouse over the navigation bar.
Best regards

Hello all,
I had the same problem, the problem seems solved from I have changed the default font in the Preference pannel.
You can test it...
Same problem @ v5.5, Windows 10. Tried OpenGL and DirectX renderers, java x86 and 64x
PS. Looks like GUI starts glitching after show preview tooltip over models window, or popup menu

I'm still having issue with this as well running version 6.0 and windows 10 with RTX 2080 Ti, latest driver.
It seems that discrete graphic card is causing this (surface pro with intel graphics works just fine).
Someone mentioned it's an issue with java 8/gpu/driver.
Is it possible to run the latest SH3D but using java 6.45 instead of java 8?
Even better, any chance to fix this bug in the next build?
Unfortunately, I have the same issue with both versions 5.0 and 6.2 - I haven't tried an earlier version yet. I have a video showing one way of creating the problem. With no project loaded, I clicked on the menu once and simply scanned through items by moving the mouse - this caused random menu corruption. Then I clicked on the menu bar again to dismiss them and simply moved the mouse around the window which corrupted the window.
This system is a laptop,
Windows 10 version 10.0.18362 Build 18362
CPU Intel i7-7700K
GPU nVidia GeForce GTX 1080, Driver version 26.21.14.3160 (updated today)
Resolution 3840 x 2160 @ 60Hz
If you require further details just ask.
Update: I have installed version 6.2 on my old laptop and it appears to be rock solid so far.
This system is a laptop,
Windows 7 Ultimate Version 6.1.7601 SP1 Build 7601
CPU Intel Core 2 Extreme X7600
GPU nVidia GeForce 8700M GT, Driver version 9.18.13.2702
Resolution 1920 x 1200 @ 60Hz
Further to this, some information that may assist the developer:
Firstly, the window graphics corruption does not happen at all until the menu has corrupted the first time, which seems to happen very easily when simply scrolling through the menu items though it is not repeatable. For example, It occurred just now as I slowly moved the mouse down the File menu and I got to "Close", the second time I got down to "Exit" so it's totally random as far as I can see.
Secondly, the window graphics corruption you see in my video seems to occur as I move the mouse off of the various (active) buttons which may or may not be already hidden by previous graphics corruption, e.g. in the button bar, and the column headings in the Home Furniture pane (Name, Width, etc). It also happens sometimes as I move the mouse up past the menu buttons to the Title Bar.
There are no errors seen in the Windows Application event log.
Finally, I have been using version 6.2 all evening on my old Win7 laptop with no issues whatsoever. So maybe this is a Win10 issue?
As running Sweet Home 3D in 32 bits with Java 3D 1.5.2 DirectX seemed to fix the issue, here are up-to-date instructions to help you install this configuration of Sweet Home 3D, from version 6.0:
/j3d.version=1.5.2option.SweetHome3D.l4j.inifile attached to this post in the installation folder of Sweet Home 3D.Last edit: Emmanuel Puybaret 2019-08-11
