After importing a background image (I tried .png and .jpg) it doesn't show up in the GUI. I tried on windows 7 Ultimate (installer and java Webstart) and Ubuntu 9/10 (german regional settings) with different hardware (notebook and desktop both with different ATI Graphic Hardware). I also tried with version 2.2 and the new released 2.3. I have also used the blueprint .jpg file of the online tutorial which describes the steps for importing a background image. On Ubuntu I found some errors in the terminal, see attached screenshot. I hope this helps. In case I do something wrong I am happy to receive an answer. If it is a bug, let me know if I can help with testing.

    Hi folks
I have the same Problem. I also imported a background image (jpg and png) both didn't show up on the editor. I am running Kubuntu Karmic (9.10) and have a ATI mobility radeon x600. The only difference to franky seems to be that I do not see any messages on my console.

I think I found the solution - coming from the faqs:

if you take the measure paper plan I assume you entered the line length like on paper in centimeters. Thats wrong. You have to enter the real length

    example
you have a measue of 3.58cm on your paper you have to enter the line length 358cm - then the plan is magically there

Some libraries seem to be missing on your Linux systems.
I can't believe you had the same log text under Windows 7.

Frank you probably had the same problem as Sven. Read FAQ about importing background images.
