SwapDV is currently incompatible with the 4500 series units. Thanks to you and a private response, that did do the trick, it did ask about creating the .rdg file. it seems there's filename restrictions, but after renaming back to the seconds-since-epoch format it worked well. Thanks for the response! -philip |

Whenever I use SwapDV to interact with a ReplayTV 4504 I have no problem getting the list of what's in my "Replay Guide", but I can't seem to download anything. I just get an error message stating that SwapDV was "unable to locate associated mpeg". Does SwapDV work with the new 45XX series? ...Eric |

SourceForge tells me: Archive: Archives not yet available for this list. I have some videos I transferred off my Replay using another program to free up Replay drive space. I have the .mpg and .ndx files, but none of the .rgd files. I want to be able to send them back to the Replay for (re)viewing, but I cannot figure out how to even get them visible to SwapDV itself. Any clues or pointers? BTW: Anyone else have difficulty (i.e. complete failure) getting SwapDV to recognize a right-mouse click? I'm using a Logitech 3-button mouse on Mac OS/X and nothing else seems to have a problem (then again, I don't know that any of the other Java programs I've run even have any context menus with a right-click). Or, are all right-button menu items available from the menu bar and I shouldn't worry about it? Thanks, philip |

Not that I can think of right now... Tho you can 'export' a show (along with it's .ndx and .rgd files), which will allow you get a copy of the file in a separate location. Is there an easy way to figure out which files on the hard drive correspond with which entries in the swapdv show list? Thanks, Bryn |

Hi. I was hoping someone might help me out with a problem I'm having with some of the downloaded files from ReplayTV. I want to burn them to a DVD for archival and later viewing, but some files refuse to burn, and there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. I'm usin Ulead DVD Moviefactory which can take the mpg files from the replay and put them on a DVD without any re-encoding or editing necessary. Some files it works just fine with. Others, I get an error that the audio format is not supported. It seems something must be corrupted in the audio header or something (when I try to look at the info with the MPEG Properties from MediaLab, it gives me an "Error in audio packet header" message. I've tried downloading the file with SwapDV using all three methods with the same results. However, the files will still play fine on the ReplayTV unit and also with PowerDVD and Windows Media Player. Any ideas why some files work fine and others seem to have problems with the audio stream? Is there an easy way to fix the audio stream information so it will work? Thanks, Ray Rankins |

David, Thanks for the bug report. Its sounds like a pretty serious bug but (after 4 variations) I'm unable to re-produce it. Anyone else having this problem or able to reproduce it? If you can get it to happen again (or can remember more) could you let us know the steps involved (did you drag and drop to change the channels etc.), was auto-save guide on etc. Jonathan -----Original Message----- From: David Sanner [mailto:sw...@bi...]=20 Sent: Wednesday, May 22, 2002 12:35 PM To: swa...@li... Hi, =20 I noticed that we've gained quite a few people on this list now but we haven't had much traffic. =20 First of all, welcome and thanks for taking an interest and supporting SwapDV. =20 Please use this list to discuss swapdv, to report any problems you're having, feature requests and so on. You can also use the various forums on swapdv and I'd recommend the sourceforge pages on swapdv as a good alternative place for these things. You can get there via www.swapdv.net =20 We'll also use the list to announce new things and maybe to test the waters on some ideas we're having! =20 Thanks The SwapDV project |

Could you be more specific? That is, are you using SwapDV to download a file, and then play that file on your PC? Or are you using SwapDV to stream the file back to your Replay? If you're trying to play it on the PC, you need the right set of codecs, which is a tricky thing. I don't happen to know the right set, and various people report different levels of success with a variety of codecs.
