    @kameleon

    Key combination Control + Ins

    It's time to mention the Control + Ins key combination. FYI Control + Ins = Control + C.

    In a Windows environment, this key combination (Control + Ins) performs a copy.

    Unfortunately in Subtitle workshop classic this keyboard shortcut (Control + Ins) = Insert new line. This is wrong.

    @Kameleon_, I wish you would fix this problem in Subtitle workshop classic with the keyboard shortcut because I use it all the time. And every time I use this keyboard shortcut in Subtitle workshop classic, a newline is inserted, which is annoying.

    Now is the time to tell you about this bug and you need to fix it. This bug has existed since the old versions v.2.60 and until now.

      Why do you say that "Control + Ins key = Control + C"? In Subtitle workshop they are 2 different key combinations. As default ^C is defined as "Copies the selected subtitles", and ^Ins is not assigned.
      Please take a look into the menu 'Settings -> Edit Shortcuts', chapter 'Edit' to se what shortcuts are assigned to which action.
      Thanks in advance.

        Because the leading is the OS (operating system). Since it is the leading base, it is logical that the keyboard shortcuts are the same in Subtitle workshop.

        Via "Edit Shortcuts" I changed for myself personally:
        - Ctrl + Ins = Copy;
        - Shift + Ins = Paste.

        For me, these two keyboard shortcuts are excellent and I have already set them to have the same effect already in Subtitle workshop.

    @kameleon

    Since the topic I created two days ago is about keyboard shortcuts, I am adding to this topic...

    @kameleon, maybe a month ago in one of the threads I attached the "LongerDurations.pas" file. This file is used by master translators and editors in our country. And you did the right thing and added it to be offered in the program itself. So far so great.

    By "Subtitle works hop v.6.2.1 portable" this "LongerDurations.pas" is triggered/activated with the key combination "Control + Shtif + 5". I've been using this Pascal script like this for years. But it turns out THIS key combination doesn't work TOO.

    I'm adding to this thread with something else that I won't make a new thread for.

    I. With the "Error Information" menu open - the numbers located vertically, which I have circled in red, I did not find where to reduce only their size?! There is no way to reduce the size of these numbers because they are out of proportion to the rest of the text.

    II. For example, we open the "Tools" menu. The gaps between "Batch Convert" to "Split Subs" are awfully large.

    @kameleon, I admit, these huge distances annoy me and are not to my taste. I ask you to check in the old versions - like v.2.60 what the distances are and make them like in the old version. For me, these distances are extremely inconvenient and take up too much space when opening any menu above - "File"; "Edit" and all menus after that. The more concise/condensed menus as they were in version 2.60 are excellent.

    III. Look at this photo, which again shows the huge distances that are left in the subtitle editing box:

    I have highlighted them with red arrows.

    Again, these distances are extremely vast.

    I'm attaching my settings file of "Subtitle works hop v.6.2.1 portable" together with the subtitle file, you may not need it, but at least to test visually.

      Will be solved in version 6.2.2.

      p.s. Why do you use the 'XP' menus instead of the window menus? (can be adapted in 'Settings, Program').

      Could you please have a look in the 'Settings-> Edit Shortcuts' menu, chapter 'Tools'? Here you can see which shortcuts are assigned to which pascal scripts. I see in my own settings that Shift Cntrl 5 is assigned to nr 20. In your case it should be 26 of course.With a right mouse click on nr20 you can delete it there (if it is there in your case) and after that assign it to nr26.
      Thanks in advance.

        All issues are implemented in v6.2.2, except for the above one, which requires a check from Mr Seagate..

          I apologize for writing only now. It hasn't notified me that a new comment has been posted here.

          I just checked it and it is indeed number 26. I corrected it as you instructed. In principle, it would obviously be good if it were by default under number 20.

          For a base, I compare with "Subtitle works hop v.6.2.1 portable" - it seems I didn't see an "Edit Shortcuts" menu there.

          I've seen some things at the moment which I will describe in the relevant thread for the new version 6.22.

              I hope you saw my comment: https://sourceforge.net/p/subtitle-workshop-classic/discussion/feat/thread/2d19711de3/#3b3d/77c5/3024

              I'm having a hard time getting used to this arrangement of comments. Instead of the newest opinion being at the bottom, it's somewhere up...
