If you want to save something fast, use the shortcuts such as Ctrl-S (save original file), Shift-Alt-P (safe project). If you don't like those shortcuts, try the Shortcut Editor. Hit "Settings" in the menu and then "Edit Shortcuts"

Could you please elaborate what you were doing with case conversion( control + shift + c)? Was waveform active for example? Were you doing something else? More information is needed to fix your problem.

It's because the video renderer needs time to sync up. When you press the buttons very fast, the video can't catch up and the result you have noticed. There are better ways to solve this problem: settings -> settings -> video preview -> change Backward en Forward time. Or try to pause the movie and then press the forward/backward button. If you install VLC 32 bit (it needs to be 32 bit), Subtitle Workshop can use VLC instead of codecs. In Subtitle Workshop, in the Menu -> Video -> Video Renderer -> VLC.

I'll include shortcuts that can be altered through the shortcut editor. You can use the shortcuts to save everything. It can be configured through the shortcut editor.
