See http://php.net/errorfunc.configuration#ini.error-reporting. Setting can be applied only to selected directory, if you don't want to mess things for other webserver users. You can also set display_errors=0 and error_reporting=6143 and then check your webserver logs. Test PHP configuration. See http://www.squirrelmail.org/wiki/TestPHPSettings. Check if you have mysql extension and don't confuse it with mysqli. Your DSN is for mysql and not for mysqli. Check installed PHP Pear libraries ('pear list' command). Make sure that PHP include_path has path to PHP Pear library directory. -- Tomas -- View this message in context: http://old.nabble.com/DSN-in-vadmin-SQL-specification-tp33221992p33225686.html Sent from the squirrelmail-plugins mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |

Thank you, Paul and Tomas for your help. Alt+Shift+<access key> works for me now in Chrome after I created a second SM identity. I still don't understand why a second identity is required to make access keys work, nor how it makes the code I quoted work, so I'm still curious about that, if either of you would care to take a stab at explaining that to me. Well, I do see that in the HTML source of the compose screen:
<script language='JavaScript' type='text/javascript'>
document.compose.identity.accessKey='f';
document.compose.send_to.accessKey='t';
document.compose.send_to_cc.accessKey='c';

document.compose.body.accessKey='b';
document.compose.mailprio.accessKey='p';
document.compose.request_mdn.accessKey='r';
document.compose.request_dr.accessKey='v';
if (typeof(document.compose.html_addr_search) != 'undefined')
document.compose.html_addr_search.accessKey='a';
document.compose.sigappend.accessKey='g';
document.compose.draft.accessKey='d';
document.compose.send.accessKey='s';
document.compose.attachfile.accessKey='w';
document.compose.attach.accessKey='h';
if (typeof(document.compose.do_delete) != 'undefined')
document.compose.do_delete.accessKey='l';
</script>

No JS errors, and it still doesn't work. One thing I've noticed,
however, is that the script quoted above is placed at the very end of
the page, *outside* the head tag and just before the end body tag. Seems
an odd place to put it, and shouldn't it be *inside* the head tag?

I made an account over there, can you send me a message? My nickname is the same. I tried all ports you mentioned but I can't get it to work, I'm very stupid with such things. Also, the SquirrelMail e-mail address was part of a webhosting plan from DreamHost. You have to go into "Menu -> mail and chat accounts -> the account -> edit -> servers tab" and set port 993 (and port 587 or465 for the SMTP server probably). For the IMAP server, you can also try with port 143 with TLS unchecked. For SMTP, you can try port 25/587 with TLS unchecked if 587/465 don't work with TLS checked. > Well, I got a welcome mail from Opera. You have to make sure you have the right IMAP and SMTP server names. If you goto webmail.example.com to get to the webmail, the IMAP server most likely isn't going to be webmail.example.com. You can goto "Menu -> mail -> IMAP folders" and make sure you're subscribed to all the IMAP folders. Note though that Opera has special views at the top of the mail panel (press F4 to toggle the showing of the mail panel or enable the panel toggle strip via "shift + F12 -> panels"). The actual IMAP folders views (like "Inbox' and such) are under a "yo...@ex..." access point. If all else fails and you have all the settings correct, it's possible that's there's something special you have to do to log into the IMAP server that only the admins set SquirrelMail up to do. Or, they might only allow access to the IMAP server from SquirrelMail. Don't know. It's probably best that we take Opera discussions to <http://my.opera.com/community/forums/forum.dml?id=32> though. Now, for the archive plugin for SquirrelMail, the administrator have to install the plug-in into SquirrelMail on the server. As a user, it's not something you do unless you're running your own local version of SquirrelMail. In other words, you have to ask the admin to install it. -- Michael |

Hello. Thanks for your help. I downloaded and installed Opera, and logged in with my SquirrelMail login (in the mail client) and chose IMAP instead of POP. Then I chose TSL for both incoming and outgoing. The client didn't ask me anything else, it didn't ask for a port or so. Well, I got a welcome mail from Opera. I have no idea if I can send/receive mails, but all the folders are empty. I can't see my "inbox", "sent" and "old messages" like in SquirrelMail. How do I get all the mails from SquirrelMail into the Opera client so that I can store them on my computer? It's about 4000 mails. -- View this message in context: http://old.nabble.com/How-to-install-the-Archive-Plugin--tp33173073p33177966.html Sent from the squirrelmail-plugins mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |

The actual process when you do the follow is quick and simple.) Setup the IMAP account in Opera's built-in mail client by going to "Menu (Opera button in top left corner) -> Mail and Chat accounts -> add". You'd use the same username (or email address) and password you use to login to SquirrelMail. You'll need to know the settings for the IMAP server though. The port is usually 993 + TLS. But, it could be port 143 with TLS checked (for StartTLS) or port 143 with TLS unchecked. Authentication should be set to "Auto". You'll still need to know the server name though. It could be localserver.com, mail.localserver.com or imap.localserver.com for example. If you don't know the server name, you could ask the settings needed to connect via Thunderbird. You can then use those for Opera. Then, if you manage to setup the IMAP account in Opera and fetch your mail, you can right-click any view and choose "export" to export the shown messages in that view to an mbox file. You can also create a label in the "Labels" access point, drag the messages you want to it and then just export that label to an mbox file. See <http://my.opera.com/operawiki/forums/topic.dml?id=1158492> for more info. Note that when exporting, if Opera says that it needs to fetch bodies for the messages it wants to export, tell it to. Then, try the export again. Or, you can go into the account's properties and on the incoming tab, set "make all messages available offline". Then, in Opera's mail directory (see <opera:about>), there's a store folder. In it is a folder for each account that stores all the messages for the account as mbox files. Just close down Opera and copy the folder to a safe place so that they're backed up. If you want to archive the messages (as in, have them locally, but remove them from the IMAP server), see <http://my.opera.com/operawiki/forums/topic.dml?id=1130132>. To get Opera, download it from <http://www.opera.com/browser/>. Click "options" in the installer, set the install path to a folder in your userprofile space like "C:\users\user\My Program Files\Opera" and set "install for" to "standalone installation". That way, it won't write any registry settings or interfere with your default browser etc. Now, the reason to use a local mail client to fetch/archive all the messages is that the SquirrelMail archive plug-in doesn't work well as it runs out of allowed memory when exporting lots of messages. This means that the archive plug-in is likely useless for you unless you run your own server locally with your own PHP environment and your own SquirrelMail where you can configure the amount of memory PHP can use etc. Now, for the mbox files you created, if your mail ever gets wiped from the IMAP server, you can import those mbox files and drag the messages to the IMAP account to reupload them. See <http://my.opera.com/operawiki/forums/topic.dml?id=1133042> for more info. If you have any questions about Opera's built-in mail client (where you need complete step-by-step directions for setting up an account), you can ask at <http://my.opera.com/community/forums/forum.dml?id=32>. Hope that helps. -- Michael |

Okay, I am totally new to this. I use Windows XP and use SquirrelMail in my Firefox Browser. Well, I use it for work and I would like to archive the mails so I won't lose any important information, just in case. I googled and found this: http://squirrelmail.org/plugin_view.php?id=121 I downloaded archive_mail.1.2-1.4.2.tar.gz, and opened it with my winRAR, but I couldn't find an installation .exe inside. Then I read this: Requires: SquirrelMail 1.4.2 and PHP with Zlib enabled I have absolutely no idea what that means. What's a PHP? Whats Zlib? I visited the website of Zlip, but AGAIN I found a weird .tar.gz file without any installation .exe inside. I don't even know how to install a Firefox plugin. I really need a step by step guide. Like 1. Go here and download this 2. Open it with this 3. Put this file in that folder and so on Please could anyone help me? -- View this message in context: http://old.nabble.com/How-to-install-the-Archive-Plugin--tp33173073p33173073.html Sent from the squirrelmail-plugins mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |

Make sure they are set up/enabled in your config file and configured as desired in the display options. Then view the source code for the compose screen and make sure you see things such as: document.compose.send.accessKey='s'; After that, it's all about figuring out what your browser is doing with your access keys. You can also look to see if it's complaining about any JavaScript errors. -- Paul Lesniewski SquirrelMail Team Please support Open Source Software by donating to SquirrelMail! http://squirrelmail.org/donate_paul_lesniewski.php |

Depends on the platform you're using to acess it. On a PC it should
be Alt+Shift+key.

It does go to "Send" after the body, but you probably have multiple
send buttons on the screen due to your configuration for where the
buttons are placed ("Location of Buttons when Composing"). You can
move them to after the message body to eliminate multiple send buttons
or ask me offlist for a new version of the plugin that has a fix for
this.

Hi list, is there a plugin to change the password when a squirrelmail user has forgotten it and want to set a new one? Or is this function already implemented in another plugin of the squirrelmail plugin page? Regards Andl |
