Hi Greenup,
<snip>
Not sure if this is the correct forum, or if I should get an account on
sourceforge, or submit to the "dev" list...

This is _exactly_ the right forum.
<snip>
I love your tool! Kudos are definitely in order.

Thanks. Its gives me a bit of a buzz knowing people find it useful.

An alternate way to specify the sort (before the data is fetched) would be
helpful,
or perhaps a set of buttons for "First page", "previous", "next", "last
page".
Maybe both. :-)

JDBC 2.0 has extensions (move to front, end, row number etc.) that should
enable us to give you the kind of functionality that you are looking for
although we won't be doing it for version 1.1. One of the things I have to
do (when I get a bit of free time) is to start putting together a roadmap of
what needs to be done (and when) to SQuirreL. Certainly better handling of
result sets will be one of those things. Another thing I'd like to see added
would be query wizards which would help build SQL queries for those people
not very familar with SQL.
The more that gets done to SQuirreL, the more there seems to be to do. Oh
well, at least I'm having fun.

At least one additional feature would be helpful, at least to me...
I am a silly user, and weak at sql. I like to browse a couple large tables
(10000+ rows.)
If I change the session properties to Not "limit rows", fliping between
tables is evil.
If I leave it alone, I can't see the last rows of the table.
Sorting, of course, only sorts what has been downloaded.
An alternate way to specify the sort (before the data is fetched) would
be helpful,
or perhaps a set of buttons for "First page", "previous", "next", "last
page".
Maybe both. :-)
