German, I have tried putting an absolute path in the sql-ledger.conf and the relative path as shown below. Both do not work. I don't understand what the sql-ledger path has to do with the windows path it is not windows having problems access the members file it it is Apache through the Sql-Ledger perl program. Can you explain further what it is you believe I need to do. Jess: By looking at your error.log it tells me that the URL is being rerouted and that the old one is no longer available. On your apache config you need to provide the new path or as part of your settings in windows add sql-ledger/users/members as part of your path. Good luck Jerry --- Jess <je...@oz...> wrote: > Yes, the one supplied with 1.4.5 called > members.default was renamed to > members, the path is:- > > |---------- path----------|---file---| > sql-ledger/users/members/members > > > sql-ledger.conf variable was modified to: > $memberfile = "users/members"; > > The members file contains:- > ------------------------------------------------------- > # members file format is as follows: > # username enclosed in square brackets > # label= line for setting up hash in signon script > # everything up to eof or next [ is read in > # ignore anything past a hash mark and empty lines > > [root login] > password= > ------------------------------------------------------ > Regards Jess > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Dieter Simader" <dsi...@sq...> > To: <sql...@li...> > Sent: Sunday, 17 June, 2001 2:31 AM > Subject: Re: Apache denied access problem. > > > > Do you have a members file, if so, where is it? > > > > sql-ledger.conf has a variable > > > > $memberfile = "path/filename"; > > > > to specify the location and name for the file. > > > > > > Dieter Simader http://www.sql-ledger.org > (780) 472-8161 > > DWS Systems Inc. Hi Everyone: Does anyone know where in the SQL-Ledger AR code (i.e. filename, line number) the receipts posting is done so I might track down my issue below? Sorry, I am a little rusty on Perl coding and the program flow of SQL-Ledger. Thanks in advance. Hi Dieter: Just following up our previous e-mail posts, it appears that when posting receipts under the Receipts menu they are not posting to the acc_trans table. We are selecting all open receipts under the Receipts menu and then getting the results back. Next, entering in the amounts from the payment received (note: not all payments may have been received) we click on Process Receipts. No errors messages appear and all looks good. However, when you go to Account 1061 in the Account List and search for receipts for the date you received them on there are no transactions. I have viewed the acc_trans table for the transactions and they are not there. To further confirm this issue, the Checking Account 1061 balance does not change. Another note, the acc_trans table will be update if you edit an invoice payment amount to 0 and then put the amount back. However, the payment date is the date of the invoice. Any quick ideas on how to track down and solve this issue? It did not appear until upgrading from 1.2.9 to 1.4.3. It is still happening on 1.4.5. Do you have a members file, if so, where is it? sql-ledger.conf has a variable $memberfile = "path/filename"; to specify the location and name for the file. Hi People, I am trying to determine why Apache is giving an ERROR! Permission Denied message when there is no access restriction in the file system which a standard WIN98 FAT32 Partitioned drive running Windoze 2000 Pro. As far as I can tell there is no restriction in Apache httpd.conf file that would disallow access to the users/members directory or file. So can Dieter or someone who is more intimate with the Perl Code of SQL-Ledger tell me where in the code exactly does the admin.pl attempt to open the "members" file so I can check to see if the is something in the way the file is called or even using a linux based command that may not exist in Windoze 2000 pro. Anyone happy to assist would be welcome. You have added the settings to the wrong file. These seetings are to be added to the /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf. Once you add these lines you can check against your configuration files. Dieter, Find attached some interesting (?) modifications to the Invoicing code. 1. The 'Update Form' now (basically) does the same thing as the 'Add Item'. I just used a wrapper. This was a user request, because they couldn't understand the process. Now they can happily press 'Update Form' instead of 'Add Item' and it'll all still work. 2. The 'Due Date' is recalculated on 'Update Form'. This is also just as useless because most of the time you post today. Oh well. Patch if you like (made against 1.4.5). Apologies for the colour changes... perl -pi -e 's|\Q#000066\E|336666|g;' --=20 B. http://makelinux.org/ "Always real." http://realthought.net/ __________________________________________________________________________ Man 1: Ask me the what the most important thing about telling a good joke i= s. FAT32 and NTFS have different restrictions as you have mentioned. I encountered the same problem with apache and yes you have to have full access to the directory otherwise it will give you error 403. If you go into the directory where apache keeps its logs files and check file error.log or error1.log you can see the actual problem why the file is being locked and preventing you access. Thanks for the reply Alexander. But as I mentioned below this is on a Windoze 2000 Pro on a FAT32 partition that does not support file system level permissions, so as far as W2K pro is concerned all files on a FAT32 are available to anyone who has user access to that computer. So in this situation I don't believe W2K is restricting access to the users/members. Any other ideas I could persue. On windoze, I've always had good luck getting the windows "shortcut" concept to work in the place of unix symlinks. Dieter, If you happen to be poking around in the is/ir code... ;-) Would it be possible to have a 'sub-total' column added to the end of each row (after Price and Disc)? Also, any plans for more date calculations, e.g. in invoices click Update Form, and the due date is recalculated (since the user may change the issued date)? You can tell me to stop asking and do it myself of course! Heheh... However, one thing that is more core, and probably better for you to take a look at is the term 'Number' in the invoices (both cust. and vend.). I was informed that a better term would be 'Item Number' ... and this makes sense to me because when one translates for a different locale -- 'Number' in the invoices isn't equivalent to say 'Number' somewhere else, e.g. Setup -- Tax Account -- Number. Of course, maybe the Setup page just needs 'Account Number' instead of 'Number'... now I'm babbling. ;-P Later, Ben. -- B. http://makelinux.org/ "Always real." http://realthought.net/ __________________________________________________________________________ It's hard to get ivory in Africa, but in Alabama the Tuscaloosa. -- Groucho Marx |

Heya Dieter, Find the diff attached for ar.pl (against 1.4.5). You'll notice that I've left the various <FONT> tags intact as much as possible, for the moment, to allow for backwards compatibility (the old look?). The really only added HTML code is the outer table (which can be used for a nice border) and the coloured lines trickery. The rest is just replacement of " with qq|, and the class= stuff. FYI, these are the current classes. perl -n -e 'if ( m/class=\"[^\"]*\"/ ) { print $& . "\n"; }' < ar.pl | sort | uniq class="list_heading" class="list_inner_table" class="list_item" class="list_outer_table" class="list_row_1" class="list_row_2" class="list_total" list_inner_table, list_outer_table are only placeholders at the moment. I'm thinking there'll soon be a need for list_sub_total. Anyway, that's for later. Here's the stylesheet I've been using. I just put it in Form.pm. <style type="text/css"> <!-- body { background-color: #ffffff; } .list_inner_table { } .list_outer_table { } .list_heading { font-family: arial, helvetica, san-serif; font-size: 13px; font-weight: bold; color: #003399; background-color: #000066; padding-top: 1px; } .list_item { font-family: arial, helvetica, san-serif; font-size: 12px; padding-top: 1px; padding-left: 2px; padding-right: 2px; } .list_row_1 { background-color: #eeeeee; } .list_row_2 { background-color: #ddddee; } .list_total { font-family: arial, helvetica, san-serif; font-size: 13px; font-weight: bold; color: #ffffff; background-color: #000000; padding-top: 1px; } --> </style> As for RTL stuff, I think it's just a matter of adding the 'direction: rtl;' attribute. I must admit, I'm unfamiliar with this setting. ;-O Cheers! Ben. P.S. I think I forgot to attach the screenshots... I always forget attachments. In an effort to isolate a SQL-Ledger query issue, I was trying to do a pg_dumpall command to export and reimport my data. I keep getting the error below when trying to do any dumps. dumpRules(): SELECT failed for table openrec. Explanation from backend: 'ERROR: cache lookup of attribute 1 in relation 19013 failed '. Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this issue? Thanks in advance. Regards, Michael Bush -- Digital Minds International http://www.DigitalMinds.net Tel: 615-661-7900 Fax: 615-661-7949 |

A user's manual is in the works. When it will be done, I don't know yet. Dieter Simader http://www.sql-ledger.org (780) 472-8161 DWS Systems Inc. A symlink is a link to another file. To substitute for the symlinks you can do the following. Thanks to Martin Lillepuu who patched 1.4.5 to work with Win2K Here is a manual patch. Edit login.pl and am.pl and change the first line #!/usr/bin/perl to #!c:/perl/bin/perl.exe Substitute c:/perl/bin with wherever your perl is installed. I suppose #!perl will work too as long as the path is included in the PATH environment variable copy login.pl to admin.pl copy am.pl to ap.pl ar.pl ca.pl rp.pl ct.pl gl.pl ic.pl ir.pl is.pl menu.pl Edit SL/Form.pm and change line 158 to exec "c:/perl/bin/perl.exe", $argv; Dieter Simader http://www.sql-ledger.org (780) 472-8161 DWS Systems Inc. Hi, Using sql-ledger 1.4.5 I started with a fresh install and a clean database. I added a single vendor and a single transaction using the AP Add Transaction function. Now when I try to delete or change that transaction it I get this error in the browser window: ERROR: parser: parse error at or near "" SELECT balance FROM chart WHERE accno = Is this a bug or have I done something wrong? g -- Glenn Ramsey gl...@co... |
