yup. you can have a sequence for every table, or just one sequence for all tables. dieter choose the second, that IMO is the more simple solution and work well, you don't need more than that... or put it in another way: why you will want 20 sequences when only one do the job just fine ? ;) /sergio ----- Original Message ----- From: "MR" <mtr...@du...> > Am I correct in my observation that the sequence ID is the basis of > oe.id > oe.vendor_id > oe.customer_id > > orderitems.trans_id > orderitems.parts_id > > and a few other places I'm not sticking my fingers into? > > > |

I thought at one time the order number 'auto incremented', but in todays work I'm doing with ripping out OE.pm to make it stand alone and driven from a externally parsed text file, I am not seeing auto-increment behavior in the web pages. So: Was I on the cheap crack (becuase I hadn't got billing out and therefore can get the good stuff :-) or have I missed some sort of flag that allows the next logical ordernum to be placed on the web page? For the code I'm writing, its a non-problem, but my memory says that the web page used to auto-increment, and I seek clarity on this. |

hi there, i'm still at the proof of concept stage. i have successfully setup SL to work on my debian woody workstation - but now i need it to run on my co-located server which runs slackware. i have created a new DB from a template and created a user. however - when i try to connect i get the following message. Database Error: PQconnectPoll() -- connect() failed: Connection refused in the browser, sorry i can't find any other log messages - this is a slackware distro and i can't find my way around it as easily as debian, TIA kev bailey |

I assume it is not required to read *both* readme and announcement when doing an install/upgrade? As a sidenote - I had problems reading the pdf file (xpdf doesn't like type 3 fonts) so I switched to using dvipdfm (instead of the gs dvipdf). It generates smaller pdf files that renders nicer. It seems to generate quicker as well :-) NB: Debian users need the package tetex-extra. - Jonas -- Jonas Smedegaard (+45 40843136) http://dr.jones.dk/~jonas/ Spiff ApS (= IT-guide dr. I got the same problem after upgrading from 1.8.2 Even after installation of LaTeX, sql-ledger didn't display the radio buttons for formats "ps" and "pdf". I erased the install directory completely and did a new install. Now the options are there. To avoid printing problems, article no may not contain "_", also check tax options if you get latex errors. Btw, I tried to modify to *.tex files with LyX. Import did not work, reLyX neither. Is there an other tool to adapt the tex files to local needs (besides inclueded form editor)? I note that 1.8.3 has LaTeX (thus my delayed research into the LaTeX invoicing seems to be solved). What I do not see is how to get the LaTeX out however :-( I spot a radio button for HTML and buttons for send to screen and e-mail but I don't know where to set up or get the LaTeX. Oh, and as an aside: If you have an older DBI you see this error: Can't use an undefined value as an ARRAY reference at /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_ perl/5.005/i386-freebsd/DBI.pm line 1016. So, if you see that, or have not upgraded to 1.8.3, you may need to upgrade the DBI. |

1)List Prices 2)Bin 3)ROP(ReOrder Point?).
In order to use this software better,I want to know what's meaning of

Hi Peter. This is why I wrote that csv file dump. I find that dumping the trial balance into a csv and doing your reports in a spreadsheet let's you handle situations like below easily. You can automate most of it with macros. As far as numbering goes, it's a good idea to leave yourself room for the future. You can multiply your acct numbers by 10 with (Dieter's tip): update chart set accno = accno * 10; Good luck. Hi Dieter' Excelent. My accounts are stractured in this way. Do you recon I shuld put more digits. below is example of my structure. 3000 (this is my header account) 3100 3110 3120 3200 3210 3211 3212 3220 3221 3222 3223 etc I would like to have them called in Balance sheet and other reports. I've got other complications. I follow recomended by polish laws account structures. COA was easy to setup. Problems starting with Balance Sheet report. For example, say accounts in group 3000 have to be shown on the beginning of report before accounts group 1000. It would be a chance in GL reports to select(code in the tamplate)certain groups of accounts to appear in chosen place? Accounts that are similar are usually consecutive in the chart, and are often summarized as one item in balance sheet reports and such. Commonly, there is a GL account for every bank account, but they are often reported together as "Cash". rob Live the dream. |

Accounts are ordered by account number. This is a number. To simulate sub accounts enter accounts this way. 100010000 bank accounts 100010100 bank west 100010110 checking 100010120 savings 100010200 bank east 100010210 checking 100010220 savings I'll be adding an account range report on the GL reports. Jeremy, I'm currently working on translating data out of an MYOB system to sql ledger, so far I've managed to move a few of the tables with some problems, you could find this to be your biggest head ache, but there are always drugs to fix that problem... It may be quicker to write a patch for this, if you come up with one I would dearly like to know.. because if you don't discover one or do it yourself then I'll be onto it soon, as soon as I learn perl, postgres, etc, etc... Regards, Nicholas Tomlin. |

Salve Matteo Thank you, your hint help me a lot. Without underscore the invoices are printed. Besides the underscore, there are some other weaknesses to take into account when printing, one of them seems to be tax... I'll prepare a list with the points related to printing.
