Since 2.8.7 I noticed that the Due Date is not updated when I generate an invoice from a Sales Order. After pushing Update it is however corrected. It is quite annyoing when the Due Date is in the past... Is this a bug or a feature? I also note, and since many versions, that the CC address, is not taken over to the Invoice, so I have to type it manually (FFox remembers typed entries of forms, but since I have many it's counter productive). Pushing Update does not help, but if I change the Customer (in the Invoice) it works (but not if I change in the Sales Order). Bug or a feature? greetings, el |

Enter an opening balance via Journal Entry, quite S.O.P. for any accounting package. Do not forget to treat A/P, A/R and any inventory by entering invoice(s) as stated in the documentation! 2007/8/16, Tariq Khokhar <ta...@kh...>: > > Hi All, > > I can't believe I've not had to do this before: > > Is there a way to set the starting balance for a bank account ? > > For example, if I want to set the start balance (for a 1060 checking > account) to =A310,000 to reflect the beginning of a new accounting year > using a new accounting system. > > Thanks, > > tk > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------- > This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc. > Still grepping through log files to find problems? Hi All, I can't believe I've not had to do this before: Is there a way to set the starting balance for a bank account ? For example, if I want to set the start balance (for a 1060 checking account) to =A310,000 to reflect the beginning of a new accounting year using a new accounting system. Thanks, tk |

Hi folks, Do you guys know about any company that provides services using sql-ledger. At my organization, we are trying to leave Quickbooks behind, but I don't want to go Microsoft. Maybe you know about any accounting software hosted on Linux? By the way, we are a non-for-profit organization, so we would need things like grant management and so. Thank you in advance, Sergio |

Hi Colin, There is a check mark next to description field. If you check it and click update, a second line will be displayed where you can enter delivery date and other information. This works only after you have entered an item in the 'Number' field. Let me know if you need additional explanation. It seems that this SQL command tries to build a new table called curr and fills it with all distinct currencies it will find in the respective curr column in ar, ap, gl and oe. If one of them is NULL, there will be a not-null contraint error. Find your NULL in these tables and change it to a valid currency symbol. Hope this helps. Hi All, I have been happily using SL 2.6.19 for some time now, and decided that = I would update to 2.8.6. All went well, until I wanted to send my first invoice, when I noticed = that I could not include a delivery date. Dear list Here in the UK, when a new company is formed, the end of year date is automatically set to the last day of the month in which the company was created. We have the option to make a one-off change to this date so that it falls inline with another tax deadline or the calendar year. This change is made by either reducing or extending the length of the first financial year accordingly. I have extended the period of my company's first financial year to 17 months. My question is, how do I account for this in SQL Ledger? Is there anything that I need to consider? Many thanks Greg Bolshaw |

Having them defined as a service vs parts shouldn't affect the reporting options any but should help with managing "inventory" in the case where somebody ends being credited a half-day or similar bizarreness. Thanks for all your comments. I am drawn to the idea of a one day time unit. This way, it would be easier to have a daily report - P&L in the morning sort of thing, without fiddling with partially expired rental periods of longer than one day. A week rental just means an order for 7 parts - with part numbers coding the particular date of each (future) day rental. The P&L in the middle of that week would figure 3 or 4 sold parts and 4 or 3 on order, for delivery once a day.
