Don't know how new session per request is but that is what we use.  I
guess I did not realize the session is not started until the tx is.  I
am sure I will be reading more of that code soon.

If you use the new mode of the OpenSessionInViewFilter where there are 
multiple sessions, but close is deferred, then in fact there is no 
existing session yet.

If you use the old mode, with just one session, then it's probably not 
the end of the world. The tx sync ensures a flush, and also a callback 
into Hibernate's SessionImplementor.afterTransactionCompletion() 
callback method.  With the default flushmode setting, adding back in the 
HibernateInterceptor to force a flush would not do it, since it would 
find the session already on the thread and would not flush on coming 
back, on that basis. You could force a flush with a FLUSH_EAGER setting, 
but then if you had multiple wrapped invocaitons, you'd flush on coming 
back from every one, not just the outer.

I may be missing something; Juergen feel free to comment if the above is 
not accurate.

Thanks for the feedback. From the research I have done there seem to be 
a lot of people that have had a pretty good experience moving from phpBB 
to vBulletin; I wasn't really able to find much in the way of negative 
experiences. The enhanced admin functionality was actually one reason 
why a lot of people mentioned switching. For me extra functionality on 
the admin side is not a big deal, but I am attracted to the built-in 
ability to do email digests/tracking of entire forums, and the built-in 
printable view.  They are coming in the new phpBB 2.2, but all signs are 
that that version is 3-6 months away at least, based on they pace they 
release at. While the new forums are great for people wanting to get an 
answer to a question, there is a group of people that want to read all 
the mail and use it as a learning source that would be helped by the 
enhanced mail handling capabilities.     I'll take a look at the fully 
modded variant, although I'd be a bit worried in using that, in terms of 
being able to quickly upgrade if there security hotfixes...

Please stay away from vBulletin.

I help maintain a couple of websites, some running vBulletin 3 (and vBPortal,
and PHPGallery), and some running phpBB2. From a user-perspective, the
experience is almost identical between the two forums and vBulletin has been a
nightmare for me from a admin point of view.

What I did like quite a lot was this: http://www.phpbbfm.net.

Just my 2c. I'm not against commercial software, but in this case it just
doesn't deliver in my experience.

I think this would be valuable functionality. In fact, the Interface21
framework did have the notion of "abstract" bean definitions.

It's important of course that such abstract definitions are not returned =
by
the enumeration methods on ListableBeanFactory.=20

I would be very keen to see this in 1.1 final.

I am getting the exception in catch block of DataAccessException .

Is there is any problem in setting the target for transaction.
what should be the target class which is specifying?
whether It should be the buisiness class from where i am calling the dao
method?

How to use Spring's AbstractWizardFormController

As the class name suggests, this is an abstract class - so your WizardCon=
troller should extend it. This means in particular you have to implement =
the following abstract methods: validatePage, processFinish and processCa=
ncel.

You'll also want to write a constructor, which should at the very least c=
all setPages and setCommandName. setPages takes as its argument an array =
of type String. This array is the list of views which comprise your wizar=
d. setCommandName takes as its argument a string, which will be used to r=
efer to your Command object from within your views.

As with any instance of AbstractFormController, you are required to use a=
 Command object - a JavaBean which will be populated with the data from y=
our forms. You can do this in one of two ways: either call setCommandClas=

once, rather than matched multiple times
