Thanks for reply. I also have several other applications running in the same OC4J server in different container but using the same database with out any exception of such type. The other applications are not using spring framework which makes me think that should be some issue related to the way Spring framework handles database connectivity. You may already realize this, but I think this is more of a problem with your database than a Spring problem. This link [1] may be of use to you. If not, I would look into the error code that was returned from Oracle "ORA-03113". lavanya, There is a note in the changelog.txt file that as of 2.1 M2 support for hibernate2 has been dropped and that hibernate support is only for hibernate3.
