so as i understand i should use the --combine sequence.
I tried doing this. 
sox --combine sequence /filepathhere sox -t wav - -t oss /dev/dsp
but raspberry pi freezes after it. I believe i need to find the usb mic
instead of /dev/dsp. 

Will this even work?
