Hello everyone, I'm coming from the visual side of media and sometimes I find it difficult to imagine how a distinct effect would sound. Recently I used this website (http://sox.sourceforge.net/sox.html) often to get information on how to built command lines and combined with your help on this list I became a fan of SoX. Wouldn't it be nice to have some sort of gallery for effects to "see" how they sound. This makes sense to me. The shell-script (testtones.sh) from Rob Sykes and this recently visited page.. http://www.petrus-kirche.eu/doku.php?id=medien:medien (bad recording) ..brought me on this idea. IDEA: A page with sample snippets of effects and technical filtering. Does something similar exist? Where? Since the mp3s would be buffered on request the bandwith shouldn't be that problem. first audio sample.................................................... SoX − Sound eXchange, the Swiss Army knife of audio manipulation |spoken by a man....|spoken by a woman..........................| I mean I would gladly accept assistance in collecting command lines together and with audio recording, but I could create that sample files, website/cms and, if wanted, provide the hosting. Maybe only an idea. Best regards, Rainer |
