You probably want a filter for the beeps here, which sox can do with the sinc effect (band-pass, brick-walled as appropriate). Not sure if the silence effect could help from this point: it should be able to trim the filtered signal for you, then perhaps use soxi on the result to get a figure to trim the original with?
