Thanks for report.  I'm slowing looking into this but no timeframe on when I
could have it resolved.  The link you provided looks promising as I do
compile it under OSX 10.6.

For now, its probably best if I push you towards MacPorts as a solution.  It
does have SoX 14.3.1 and you'll even get MP3 support which I do not ship.
