Wow. That's a tall order. *smile* SoX is amazing - but I don't think any of it's tools will help in this case. Any chance each music sample also includes a tuning note? Does this need to be a hands-off automated script? If not, there is a GUI tool called "baudline" that may help. Position the cursor on one note and it can tell you the fundamental frequency. If there are multiple notes sounding at one time, or you want a automated script, I think you are out of luck. This is where the human ear/brain is unrivaled. It's ability to process selected portions within a music passage is amazing. Maybe you could have an adjustable tone generator that a human matches to the music and then measure the tone. -- Philip |
