I should probably mention now that I had some problems with ffmpeg in Cygwin, but not the same configure/build issues just mentioned. Persuaded that I might be able to somehow use sox on mpg audio tracks while otherwise leaving the movie's video unmolested (?) I built ffmpeg on Cygwin and hoped for the best. I was able to build and install ffmpeg on cygwin, and eventually even make sox with the ffmpeg libraries linked in, but the resulting executable dies (very soon after executing). And, so I stopped compiling with ffmpeg libraries. Since Cygwin is a a bit of an oddball way to be building things in the first place, I wanted to wait and see how others got on with it. |
