Hi,

I was trying sourcejammer for first time.
I installed server succesfully. when i execute the client i am getting

sourcejammer is having trouble communicating with server a
fault was generated
fault code = SOAP-ENV:client
fault string = unable to retrieve PropertyDescriptor for property
'params' of class 'class
org.sourcejammer.project.view.SJRequest.

Can you please tell me what am i missing here.

I think this is a bit different to the previous versions of this problem.

I'm running SourceJammer on a redhat linux box, and have a local source 
tree on my windows 2000 box. I run the sourcejammer client on the 
win2000 box and every thing seems normal.

I also have a Windows XP laptop which I use for development when not in 
my office. The source tree on the windows 2000 box is mapped as a 
network drive on the XP laptop. So both machines are effectively using 
the same physical working files, and the same archive.

My problem is that some checked in files which are in synch when viewed 
from the client running on the windows 2000 machine are flagged as out 
of sync when viewed from the client running on the windows XP machine.

Albert has it right. Just do a full get and the problem will go away. If a =
developer has changed a file, SJ will notice that the file is not read-only=
 and will prompt you accordingly, so I think a full get is a pretty safe be=
t. Back up your dev directory before doing the get if you want to be safe.=

that local files that used to be in sync with the old server are now out 
of sync with the new server. The files actually are identical; when we do 
a diff, there are no differences. If we do a get, the files are then in 
sync, but we don't want to do a mass get for fear of actually overwriting 
a program that has changed (for example, a programmer edited a program 
without checking it out first).

Try checking the *.sja files, which contain the data for each individual =
repository. As well as serverconf.xml, you may need to modify all the =
the values of the he tag <pathToArchiveRoot> in those files (despite =
their uncommon extension, they are regular XML files).

[SourceJammer-users] relocating archive to new volume

There are several instructions in this user group list on how to relocate archives to a new server, but none on how to relocate to another volume with the server location remaining the same. Is this not possible? I tried copying the Sourcejammer/server files from the old volume and then editing the serverconf.xml file to point to the new volume but new changes were still recorded in the old volume. Any suggestions?

[SourceJammer-users] SourceJammer Installation

I have downloaded Windows server 2.1.0.0.  I created a directory for the
install, and I unzipped the server package.  I am looking at the Quick Start
Guide, and it says to next run the install script for SourceJammer 2.x.  I
have two install scripts.  One is a batch file, install.bat.  The other is
just named install, and it does not have a suffix.  I tried to rename it
install.sh, and then double-click, but I am prompted to choose a program to
open the file with.  When I run the batch file, there aren't any
instructions to follow.  Can you please point me in the right direction?

[SourceJammer-users] getting started with command line

I can't seem to get started with the command line interface -- can't connect and must be missing something obvious.

Here's the command and error returned:
sj >con admin admin Beta
Error encountered:
Error: The password entered by the user is incorrect.

admin admin is a real user (and Beta a test archive) so I don't know why I am receiving this error.

You need to set the project properties correctly.

According to the project properties:
Relative path: "The relative path of the files in this project on the arc=
hive.=20
For eg. If the archive name is 'HelloWorld', but the location of the file=
s for this project is 'HelloWorld/Project1/src' then set this value to '/=
Project1/src/' and the archive property to 'HelloWorld'. If the files for=
 this project are directly under the 'HelloWorld' archive, then leave thi=
s as empty."

There is no need for c:\ in the relative path. The relative path is the p=
ath in the sourcejammer archive. It is the relative path pointing to the =
location of your files, after you are connected to the archive.

Try leaving relative path empty.

This bug has been fixed in the latest version (1.0.2).
Its available for download at:

When Eclipse starts and it does not find the sourcejammer client, it =
will prompt you to select the client directory. So even if your client =
is in a non-standard location, the plugin will not fail, rather will =
allow itself to be configured to use the specified location.

Yeah Riccardo, there is a preference, in the plugin to set the =
sourcejammer client path.
What you have discovered is a bug in the code :-) But I've made a note =
of it, and will take care of it.=20

To get around this block what you can do, is just make the directory =
structure:
C:\SourceJammer\client and copy everythign inside =
C:\softdev\jammerclient to it.
Then when you start up eclipse, it should hopefully pick up the client =
properties from this new directory. Then you can open the preferences =
panel and change the location of the Sourcejammer client if you want to.

I don't think there's a simple way to do this. It can certainly be done, though. You would
probably have to parse the event log, and then look up the comment for each checked in version id
found in the range you're looking for.

Yeah Riccardo, there is a preference, in the plugin to set the =
sourcejammer client path.
What you have discovered is a bug in the code :-)
But I've made a note of it, and will take care of it.=20

To get around this block what you can do, is just make the directory =
structure:
C:\SourceJammer\client and copy everythign inside =
C:\softdev\jammerclient to it.
Then when you start up eclipse, it should hopefully pick up the client =
properties from=20
this new directory. Then you can open the preferences panel and change =
the location of the=20
Sourcejammer client if you want to.
