Hi Dave,

Thanks for your interest in this project.

The xml file you are missing is the configuration file. The distribution
package does not contain a config file. This is intentional - without a
file it will start up with the default configuration. The daemon will
generate the config file for you once you get it to run properly.

It is rather the second message that is your issue. Check if the
directory /var/run/bluez/ exists on your file system. If not, that is
what is causing your problem. Just create the directory and try again,
then it should work.

It is odd though that this directory does not exist. But it can depend
on which distribution you are using and how you went about installing
bluez.

Have you patched and installed bluez as mentioned in the readme?

Hi -
When I run /usr/local/bin/sonyps3remoted
I get these errors

** (sonyps3remoted:29056): WARNING **: Could not open config file
/etc/sonyps3remote.xml: No such file or directory
** (sonyps3remoted:29056): WARNING **: Failed to bind to
/var/run/bluez/fake_hid_054C_0306: No such file or directory

I can't find the sonyps3remote.xml file in the tar I downloaded.  I
tried passing some of the other xml files in the distro but then got
an error that the "book" element could not be found.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, been struggling with this for a few days

Hi Beren,

Glad to hear it is working well for you. I do not have any problems with
reconnecting the remote after changing batteries, I just change them and
press a button and the remote keeps working as usual. I am not sure if
this can be hardware related. My tips would be:
- Check if your computer is discoverable, that might affect
the remote's ability to connect.
- Check the logs from bluez to see if there is anything there indicating
why it is not connecting after a change of batteries.
- Run hcidump while you try to connect from the remote and see if that
tells you anything.
- Try connecting from the PC while holding the start and enter keys on
the remote (that makes it discoverable, and allows the connection to be
initiated from the PC).

I hope this helps. If not, maybe anyone else has had the same problem
and can give some advice. I have myself switched batteries lots of times
and it always connects back without any issues.

Please note that if you remove and repair the device, you will also
loose any configuration you have done in the application (combo buttons,
sticky buttons, modes etc.). If you want to keep them, make a copy of
the configuration file before you remove the remote, then when you are
done with the repairing you can stop the daemon, copy back the file and
then start the daemon again.

Hi,

Just a few things, once everything is setup, it's great, works fine.
Now, I woke up, battery is dead, take the batteries out, charge them,
stick them back in.

Question: At this point what is the fastest way of getting back up and
running? I've found I have to remove the remote, and then add it back
in. Is this the best way?
