I have succesfully connected to s7-300 series plcs using the snap7 dll, but now i have came across a problem with a s7-1200 plc
I have an older s7-1214 DC/DC/DC : 6ES7 214-1AE30-0XB0 Firmware V1.0. GET/PUT do not work on this CPU as far as i've tried, they are greyed out in TIA when you want to include them. If i change firmware version to a later version i can use GET/PUT.
Also i have found no way to set up a S7 connection to an unspecified target in TIA portal , the only way i can use an unspecifed connection to somebody is by using TCON, etc functions.
So is there any way to read/write data to/from a data block from this CPU?
Has anyone managed to read data from a firmware v1.0 S7-1200 ?
I would really appreciate some help!
Thanks in advance,
Radu-Mihai Hanc

Why do you need to design a S7 Connection into the PLC ?
Are you planning to use a S7Partner ?
If you want only to read/write data area you don't need of it.

Hi,
never used V1.0 Firmware ...I don't know.

For firmware iussues see :

Hello,
Yes i would like to use it as a partner
In the documentation i read that for s7-1200/1500 cannot work as a partner.
Regarding the firmware. Yes v1.0 does not work. only v2.0+ works. In v1.0 most profinet devies cannot comunicate also.
You think it is possible to use an s7-1200 as partner ?
Thanks in advance!
Nu merge!
