Here are a few first questions. I have discovered to my horror =20 that I am missing a couple of messages that I believe were lost =20 during one of my wipe and installs of the OS. I am also going to =20 leave out answers to some, as the server is not complete and you guys =20= will be better suited to fill in the answers. Please let me know if =20 this is no how you want me to do this. I am also aware that these =20 are not organized into any categories, as this can be done in a more =20 formal manner on the website. Q1. How does one create an agent from scratch? A1. At the moment, the recommended way is to create a new player then move the player file from the 'Players' folder to the 'Agents' folder, and add "player-type agent" to their file. Q2. How does an Agent differ from an Immortal or Wizard on other mud =20= systems and are the commands similar? Q3. How does an Agent manipulate a player character online should =20 stats or attributes need to be adjusted or is this done via the =20 character file offline? Q4. How does a character improve his/her stats or attributes? A4. Characters enter the game as "blank slates" and are able to =20 train and improve their statistics in the game. Q5. How do classes work? A5. The character chooses his/her desired class once they are in the =20= game. Q6. How do skills work? A6. Similar to stats, the character gains and improves skills in the =20 game as they develop. Q7. New characters do not have equipment upon entering the game. How =20 do they get weapons and armor? A7. New characters will find some basic equipment in the Newbie =20 area, as well as a Newbie Shop. =46rom there, they can find or =20 purchase better items in the game. Q8. How does the ambitious Slashmudx developer add new skills to =20 their game? a8. =C3Skills are described by text files in the Skills folder, but if =20= they do anything too tricky then they'll also need a plugin written to do the actual work. Q9. How does one create Classes? A9. There are a few examples of Classes already in the game, but =20 one basically creates a file that contains the skills that a =20 character can learn and at what level, as well as a list of skills =20 that are not included with that specific Class. |
