I agree. That's why I thought some catacombs (made of bare rock, similar like the Earth plane but with connected caves) instead of mazes would be nice, plus the anti-Planes for some diversity. There'd be no Lethe part there, though, as it'd completely bybass the regular dungeons. (Just had a look at the Lethe levels and found that they're pretty hard to travel through. Maybe add some baddie-only artifacts that can't be gotten any other way? Would make a player stop and think whether it's worth it to bother killing the monster or just trying to run past it. I wouldn't like that. What about alignment? What about characters who killed the Quest Leader? Why not use the aligned keys to open a door to a little cabin that holds the portal to Earth? If you put that cabin on the Home level and you can only activate the portal with the Amulet, more traditional people would be able to evade the extra levels, which might not be bad at all. If you killed the Quest leader or were thrown out and the portal is gone, then you can still get there by the escape route, when the Amulet is somewhere on the Home level, being thrown out (again) could be disabled. I'd prefer a one-way trip rather than having to go back to the main dungeon, but i guess it's a good idea to have the possibility to go back. :) Something else...
