Hello,
Just wanted to say first that I am glad to have found Skim and think it is the best PDF reader I have ever used.
Just would like to inquire if there is a possibility to have the Notes and Contents Panes fade away automatically when changing into fullscreen? Hidden pref would be fine.
Also, when in fullscreen, would it be possible to temporarily show Notes and Contents Planes when pushing your mourse cursor all the way to the left or right respectively?
Also, when searching in the Contents/Notes Pane, after pressing Enter to confirm my search string, could it take me directly to the result list so I can go through with my arrow keys? Currently I still need to click into the results or use Shift-Tab to jump into the results with the keyboard alone.
It actually used to work this way, when we were using our own custom full screen mode. However with the system full screen mode we now use this becomes problematic, and could interfere with other thing. So I don't think this is feasible. And there certainly is no going back to the old mode.
As for directly jumping to the result, that is not a good idea. Other users may just as well find that very annoying.
Please use separate RFEs for different requests.
I just changed the way we layout the content in the split views, and somehow the system now reveals a collapsed side pane when hovering near the edge in full screen. That also makes it more acceptable to hide the side panes in full screen, which is what we will do by default. This can be undone using a new hidden preference.
