The preview tool tip is absolutely amazing for reading scientific articles: checking references, equations, etc: thank you!
Would it be possible to add a SKToolTipDelay hidden preference, please, that we could set to 0 to speed up the tooltip? At the moment it has a slight delay, which I suppose might be meant to make sure the user is actually hovering on a reference, not just passing it while moving -- which makes sense for most cases.
When checking math equations in papers, it would be lovely to be able to set it to almost 0, which SKToolTipDelay would allow users to do.
Thank you very much for the work on Skim! Completely changed the way I read papers.

You understand correctly why there is a delay. And that is also when this won't be changed. The delay is also matched as good as we can to the delay for the regular text tool tips. We cannot add (hidden) preference to micromanage every little thing (we already have far too many). And certainly not when it isn't really a good idea (for the reason you offer yourself).
