Hi, is there a way to integrate the note tools with the touch bar on the Macbooks that have that feature? I'm attaching two images to give a better picture of what I mean. The first image is taken in Skim and represents what happens (or more precisely does not happen) when text is selected on a pdf file; the second image is the same action but in Preview. In Preview, it is possible to use the note tools ( and others) directly on the touch bar, rather than by clicking or through keyboard shortcuts.
THere is not much chance of this, as I don't have a touch bar. Moreover it is very hard to support it while being backward compatible.
Ok. Thank you for the answer!
Found a way to add touch bar support anyway, Apple did a good job designing the interface to easily add it.
Not sure though what items to add. For now there is a page up/down and tool mode button, and optional zoom in/out and add note button.
Amazing, thank you! What I found most helpful in the preview app is that when I select text, the touch bar displays colors I can highlight with directly (as in the image in the first post). Not sure it is possible to do in Skim, but that would be great!
The colors may be very difficult or not possible. First of all, the work flow is different in Skim. But also the colors item is not standard, so it would be a lot of work to try and recreate it. And I don't know how to modify a touch bar dynamically.
