Hi folks,
I've noticed the following issues when using skim v 1.6.9 in presentation mode in combination with zoom v 5.10.0 share screen mode.

  1. In a zoom call choosing share screen and selecting the open skim app and then from the skim app going into presentation mode works fine in my end. When I switch between slides works fine on my part but for everyone else connected into the same zoom call shows just the first slide, it's just stuck on whichever slide was shown while entering presentation mode in skim and no matter what you do it doesn't sync between what I view as a presenter and what everyone else sees.

  2. The laser pointer in the presentation mode is very useful but in the case of a zoom call is extremely sluggish not allowing everyone else on the call to follow the laser pointer with comfort, making it harder for them to understand what is being pointed at

  3. Instead, if I first go into a presentation mode in skim app and then use the share screen mode in zoom the slides seem to be changing between presenter and attendees in the zoom call although still a bit sluggish.

  4. Initially I thought that this might be a zoom issue but the above problems seem to not affect preview which I thought that in this case might be related to skim?

This is more about how Zoom tries to update rather than about Skim.

If you share the window, than going into presentation mode won't work, because the presentation is shown in a different window. That is just how it is. (that is more an incompatibility about how Zoom works rather than a problem of Skim.) So you either first have to go into presentation mode and share the window, or make sure you share the screen, not the (app) window. I am not sure how Zoom does that, this is a question about Zoom. As for sluggishness, this is most definitely about Zoom, we cannot change it if it is slow to react.

If the cursor is a problem, you may also use a standard arrow by pressing "L". Not sure if that fixes the slowdown.
