#1427 Extremely large file after exporting with embedded notes

I've noticed that on a pdf file of size 11.2 MB after highlighting only a couple of lines and exporting with embedded notes the file size immediately increased to 44.4 MB.

Any idea why that happens? Using preview no matter how much I annotate the pdf the file size remains unchanged.

Also, consider at some point adding another context menu next to "save as" something similar to "save with annotations" instead of having to export the file.

Exporting with embedded notes is performed by Apple's PDFKit. We have no influence over how the PDF is generated. This should be directed to Apple, not us.

BTW, it is one of the reasons why we don't save the PDF data by default.
