No

When I hover the mouse pointer over a link (e.g., an equation number) in a pdf, a pop-up window showing the equation is supposed to open. This feature used to work until a while ago. Now, the pop-up window is blank, and it shows only the page number in the lower right corner. See the attached screenshot for an example.

The current version of Skim I am using is 1.6.4. As far as I know, this feature was definitely working until v1.5.8. I noticed this issue only within the last couple of months, so maybe it was working in some later versions too.

I have tested this on two MacBooks: one of them is a MacBook Pro 16-inch (2019) running macOS 11.5, and the other is a MacBook Pro 13-inch (2017) running macOS 11.2.3.

Update: I tried zooming in and out of the page before hovering the mouse pointer on the link, and I got different results. See the attached screenshots.

The upshot seems to be that the pop-up window shows the bottom of the page containing the equation instead of the equation itself. As I zoomed out more, the pop-up window showed more of the bottom of the page.

It looks like the link just points to a blank part of the page. That is a problem in your PDF, not in the viewer.

The screenshots are just examples. The problem exists in all PDFs.

Here are two more screenshots: one in the same file but a different page, and another in a different file. In all the examples, the pop-up window shows only the bottom of the page.

You're right, there does seem to be something off on the calculation. Strange, it did work when I changed it.

There was indeed an error in the offset calculation. It was offset from the bottom of the page content where it should be the top. This will be fixed in the next release.

It was working with Skim 1.6.3 (133) but stopped working again in Skim 1.6.4 (134).
