Thank you for the "t" shortcut to show the Pane in the presentation mode! I thought it may be even better if the "t" shortcut acted as a true toggle: Hit "t" and the Pane appears; hit "t" again and the Pane disappears. Because sometimes you change your mind: You hit "t" to go to another page but you then change your mind to stay on the page.

(Currently, hitting "t" again doesn't hide the Pane: You need to click on the PDF page before hitting "t" to hide the Pane.)

We cannot always catch such a shortcut when the focus is on the side pane,
because the various views interpret unmodified characters already by
    themselves.
BTW this is not a bug.

BTW to disable anything like this, you can hit Escape.

    Thank you for your response!

You cannot always do so. I understand that. But, what about this specific case?

the various views interpret unmodified characters already by themselves.

How does the side pane interpret the "t" character now? It doesn't seem to do anything. So, would it be possible for the side pane to interpret the "t" character to mean "hide itself" in the future?

BTW this is not a bug.

No, it isn't. Perhaps should I have posted this "request" somewhere else?

I am talking about this specific case. For instance, tables can support
type select. Whether they do anything depends on what you type and what is
      displayed.
