Is this on High Sierra? Then this should be reported to Apple. We don't
(re)display, we only tell it to redislay, Apple's code does the actual
display.

Add highlight annotation

Highlight color will be visible after delete.
Looks like two layers of color. On delete one layer is removed.
This is really a diuplicate of bug #1198. What remains is not the highlight, but the extra opaque stuff that was causing the problem in #1198. Thius is removed when something causes a redraw (e.g. a display setting change).
