My guess is that 6mesh is a dead project. It seems vital to me for the freedom of information in the world that public doman meshing code, and mirco code, be made available. When is the release of 6 mesh planned? The 6mesh web page says 8/10/03. When will an iso be available for download? |

Dear Open Source developer I am doing a research project on "Fun and Software Development" in which I kindly invite you to participate. You will find the online survey under http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/. The questionnaire consists of 53 questions and you will need about 15 minutes to complete it. With the FASD project (Fun and Software Development) we want to define the motivational significance of fun when software developers decide to engage in Open Source projects. What is special about our research project is that a similar survey is planned with software developers in commercial firms. This procedure allows the immediate comparison between the involved individuals and the conditions of production of these two development models. Thus we hope to obtain substantial new insights to the phenomenon of Open Source Development. With many thanks for your participation, Benno Luthiger PS: The results of the survey will be published under http://www.isu.unizh.ch/fuehrung/blprojects/FASD/. We have set up the mailing list fa...@we... for this study. Please see http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/mailinglist_en.html for registration to this mailing list. _______________________________________________________________________ Benno Luthiger Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich 8092 Zurich Mail: benno.luthiger(at)id.ethz.ch _______________________________________________________________________ |

Hi, I just stumbled across this. I am the guy who wrote kernel aodv. Let me know if you need any help with it or discover any bugs. I can also seed your with some of the development work I have been doing. It seems to work better with fixed networks. thanks, Luke Klein-Berndt |

Hello, I am seeing Meshing software prefecting itself in many commercial products but I see an open source version as the only really truly usable meshing software. Hello, Seems that there's another intersting wireless beast here: http://seattlewireless.net/index.cgi/LinksysWrv54g With 20 pins jtag connector... And with a GPL driver for the radio card (Intersil Duette). I'm downloading and trying to compile to see if I can do my own fimware... -- Benjamin Henrion <bh...@ud...> http://bh.udev.org |

There's a lack of hardware to play with (the usr2450 has disappeared, and quite slow sometimes), that I want to solve first. After, we will compile stuff to have Linuxap-eh working on this platform (or 6mesh, but it's better to make a fusion of the projects to not spread the efforts). If you want to really have new LinuxAP working, we will need to hack the acx100 driver with master mode. But for the adhoc sixmesh project, I don't care about... -- Benjamin Henrion <bh...@ud...> http://bh.udev.org |

Hello all, Couple of items. I have uClinux running on the CompUSA 4 port router (Samsung based). www.compusa.com item number 290331 for US$29.95. See: http://tinyurl.com/qerq The 512kB flash needs to be upgraded to 2MB at least. It uses 4MB of SDRAM which is kindof lite but will work just fine. I hope to get a web page up on it soon. I notice that the wireless version of this router is now US$29.95 with a $40.00 rebate. Its on the main CompUSA page. I'm sure it is based on the 4 port design also. I wont go into details here. I have the unit and played around with it alittle bit. You can read the mailing list archive on this unit. It uses a Conexant ARM9 SoC and runs uClinux natively. This page is dedicated to the hacking of the unit. ActionTec also is going to support the users with source code, etc!!!! See for details: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/hactiontec/ Greg |

Hello, I would like to know if there were someone who has already played with a samsung 4510 cpu which has a jtag access. I've tried to compile the jtag-arm9 flasher, but it fails: root@pecs /usr/src/jtag-arm9 [14]# make arm-linux-gcc -g -c -o jtag.o jtag.c jtag.c: In function `inb': jtag.c:197: Internal compiler error in instantiate_virtual_regs_1, at function.c:3972 If someone has already played with that kind of beast... I've found an interesting page to demonstrate that it's possible to run linux on this kind of machine: http://www.armlinux.net/Kor/solution/vls_4510_ap.htm -- Benjamin Henrion <bh...@ud...> http://bh.udev.org |

I will not release 6mesh till there's not something working for my dev board (an usr2450) with 1MB Flash and 4MB RAM. You can play with linuxap first (I will fullfill the CVS with a version of LinuxAP when I will finish my exams). Features we need: o compressed kernel modules loading in busybox o choosing a stable enough version of busybox o rewrite the web interface of linuxap (maybe with css with tabs) o etc... A friend of mine is currently porting Linuxap and uclinux to a Dlink614+ with the samsung distrib... -- Henrion Benjamin <bh...@ud...> http://bh.udev.org |
