Hello all, I have recently been working on writing a new fft routine which makes use of the fftw library. It would be nice to make this an optional function, (ie configure --enable-fftw) so that the fftw would not be required to build the rest of the sip library. I am very inexperienced with autotools but I see what may be an issue since when the 'bootstrap' script is run it runs 'libsip_build.sce' which contains a list of the functions to be incorporated into libsip. It would be nice for the configure script to decide whether to include the new fft method or not. I have not put any of my work in CVS yet, for this reason. Any suggestions on how to do this would be great. Thank you, Angus |

Hi,
I sent a message yesterday, and I may be able to shed more light
on my problem. I get this error when I run the loader.sce file:

It has no problem with all the files that start with "CORE_RL_" and the
"_magick.dll" file is right there in the same folder as all the rest.
PLEASE HELP!

Hi,
I am having some trouble with the installation process on Windows XP. The
INSTALL.txt file says the following:
Installation:
Double-click the SIPToolbox for Windows installer and follow the
instructions step by step.
My problem is that I do not see a file named SIPToolbox, only the folder in
which everything is contained. I have Scilab 4.0 and ImageMagic(although the
website said I would not need to download that since all the necessary files
were in the Windows download). I have scoured the rest of the website to see
if I am missing something, but I can't find anything obvious. Please help!

Hi Zhang, Your idea of extracting ImageMagick dll is excellent, but time consuming. So I simply suggest that you put the correct ImageMagick-dll.exe file on=20 the SIP web page. Users will have to install ImageMagick, but, at least, it= =20 will be a working solution for now. When you have more time, you can improve the system. At the present time,=20 installation of SIP for windows just fails because we can't download the=20 right version of ImageMagick. Why not replace the link to http://www.imagemagick.org/ in this page http://siptoolbox.sourceforge.net/devel/windows-port.php by a link to the real ImageMagick-6.2.5-Q16-dll ? I'm sorry that I have been extremely busy in preparing my TOEFL exam due in May 13th. I cannot find spare time to spend on SIP recently. I analysed the ImageMagick's source code and found that the extraction of ImageMagick's dl= ls would not be a simple process. Well, a problem: after downloading the new SIP-windows version, there seems to be no way to get a proper ImageMagick version (now: 6.2.6) and the SIP installer stops, complaining that the version is too old (it waits for 6.2.5). Hi guys,
so I've updated the home page with links to the new windows binary.
I also put the home page under the CVS repository, module "www". That
way anyone can update it without having to wait for me, and without
needing shell access. Feel free to edit the homepage if you have
repository write access.
The version in Sourceforge's shell is checked out from the repository
by myself whenever someone commits a change. Every checkin is posted
to a list called siptoolbox-commits
http://sourceforge.net/mail/?group_id=3D68055
this list is NOT archived so don't feel discouraged to check in
changes all the time.
Some details:
- symbolic links are not supported by CVS. If you really need one, it
will have to be done only on the shell server.
- hint: post a SSH public key to sourceforge, then use "ssh-add"
utility in order to access sourceforge without entering a password all
the time.

Hi, Murugan My Suggestion is to read and test the examples in Scilab 'examples' file folder first in order to obtain a overview of interfacing external libraries with Scilab, and next to read SIP's source code which is a invaluable fortune for anyone who wants to interface ImageMagick with Scilab, besides, you cann't miss Ricardo's documents on SIP homepage. Your suggestions are very what I want to do recently.
I've compiled SIPToolbox for Windows against ImageMagick-6.2.5-Q16
yesterday and it runs properly on my machine. However, SIPToolbox based
on ImageMagick-6.2.6-Q16 doesn't work correctly. I don't know what
exactly cause the unstability and suspect that the difference of
compilers, ImageMagick-6.2.6 is compiled by Visual C++ 2005, Scilab-4.0
is compiled by Visual C++ 2003, cause the conflict. If I have time, I'll
probe the conflict in details.
I plan to release a SIPToolbox-0.4.0-beta installer which supports
ImageMagick-6.2.5-Q16 on the homepage and place a link to
ImageMagick-6.2.5-Q16-windows-dll.exe at the same time.
I'm most grateful for your warm encouragements:-)
