I created a new source tree on cvs. The module is called Prometheus2. This new source tree has a much more logical layout and is cleaner. Also, work has been done to remove /usr fromthe system (only the StaticLib build portion has been set up this way so far, more to come...) The packages directorygot nice cleanup by removing the version from the directories. Now I don't have to create new directories for each new package release. On the sourceforge cvs, you can't delete directories, so clutter becomes a problem. Looks like GNUstep will have themes soon! Since we will definitely be sticking with XFree86 for a good while (forever?), we should try to work with it for now. Now that we have the RandR extension, we can change resolutions and color depths on the fly. A Preferences.app module to change interact with this would be awesome, I think. I want to push out a new iso image soon. There is alot of stuff that has changed and we need to make sure that the install iso will at least boot. For instance, the kernel is completely modularized, so booting needs some serious testing. This new iso will not have an installer, it will simply boot the cdrom and provide a basic X11 interface. Since we are using kernel-2.5.xx, it would be ideal to have a beta version by the time 2.6 comes out, whcih will be in the Fall I believe. Laterz, Chad |
