I'm missing one feature what previous version (5 if I remember correctly) had but newer doesn't have. When you receive mail, the system tray icon starts flashing, in old versions it kept flashing until you clicked it. In newer it just flashes a while. Would it be possible to get it back like it was?

Yes, that would work, but I have also sound notification, and if I uncheck that option, simplecheck plays that sound file every time it checks my mailboxes. And that's something I don't want.

In the "Settings->Common" uncheck "Notify only once". That should do what you need.
