#4 Abort from Invalid Page Fault Caused By Long Signature

Version 7.6.1 (and 7.0-beta-06) has a bug that is caused
by an account signature becoming too long. After a
signature is edited and it becomes "too long", it creates
a condition whereby subsequent selection of any
account in the Settings/Accounts page for editing will
generate an Illegal Operation abort of SimpleCheck.
Once this happens it is impossible to edit any account
without getting an abort. The long signature will
continue to append to messages, but no account editing
can be done, even to unrelated accounts.

The only workaround seems to be to edit the .scpf
profile file and delete the long "Signature" entry.
Apparently this bug is the result of a buffer overflow for
the Signature.
