No

Hello, when left clicking on empty area to drag-select the cursor jumps to bottom right corner of screen. If you keep left click pressed then you can select what you wanted, you just need to drag the cursor from the bottom right part of the screen back inside 7-zip. Screen recording attached.

P.S. Thanks for this great piece of software.

I found the same. It does not happen if there is no horizontal scroll bar, though. So if you maximize the window, or remove elements such as Size, Comment, Folder etc. from the column [so there is no horizontal scroll bar], then clicking in an empty area and dragging the mouse to choose multiple files e.g., the cursor works ok. Otherwise, as soon as you click and begin to drag by just a single pixel, the cursor flashes away and ends up in the "See Desktop" [icon?] area of the taskbar [far bottom right].

Another point i noticed is that it does not happen if you move the horizontal scroll bar all the way to the right and click on the far right of the 7zip window. Only clicking on the far left of window with a horizontal scroll bar all the way to the left, causes this problem.

System specs: 7zip 17.01 x64, Dell Inspiron 15-5559 notebook, Windows 10 Home x64 with all updates.

I also am experiecing this issue as of 11/30/17:
    7-Zip 16.04 [64-bit], Windows 10 Pro Version 1709 (Build 16299.64)
I also tried the beta build, 7-Zip 17.01 [64-bit] with the same exact result.

My computer is a Lenovo Y50 (59425944) with the above softwares installed.

Exactly as described by Dom Anf, if there is no horizontal scroll bar or when it is slid all the way to the right, there is no issue. Only if the scroll bar is all the way to the left or somewhere in between does the bug occur.

To make this complete, as I tested it only happen in these conditions(tested on 16.04):

    1. Windows 10 version 1709(not happening in 1607 I'm not sure about 1703 or others)
    2. Horizontal Scroll is visible(columns are so many that they can't fit in page and create a scroll bar)
    3. 7-zip is launched in non-admin mode(if you right-click, run as admin app will run fine)

Not sure if all of these are correct but these are my spectations
    Thanks

This is still happening with 7zip v18.00 beta 01/10/18 x64 with all Windows 10 updates up to date of current time today. Again, the bug occurs when you have the window open minimized with the botom horizontal scroll bar showing or active. Choose a zip file with multiple files, minimize the 7zip window until the horrizontal scroll bar appears at the bottom of the window. Then with the scroll bar scrolled all the way to the left [as is does when it is created], click and drag the mouse in 7zip window as though you want to choose multiple files. The cursor will jump out of 7zip window and land usually at the bottom right of the desktop near the clock or near the "Show Desktop" area. However, if you scroll the scroll bar all the way to the right, this will not occur.

BTW I can confirm that this bug is valid for both Run as Admin, and normal non admin use of 7zip.

Another interesting phenomenon is and I can not recall what I did to be able to do this, but under a certain condition the cursor jumps off to the top right [or was it top left?] of the desktop when you click and drag. I just tried to reproduce this bug, but I just do not recall what I did a few days ago for this to happen. I think it had to do with the possition of the scroll bar? Or maybe when there was no horrizontal scroll bar? I just can not recall. But I do recall that I could reproduce this particular behavour, which appears to have something to do with the original bug, just a variation of it.

Let me know if you need further details.

Update: I forgot to mention that this also occurs if the "vertical" scroll bar is visible and it is scrolled all the way to the top in the default position when it is created. However, if you scroll the vertical scroll bar all the way down, this bug will not happen.

It happens only if either just one horrizontal or vertical scroll bar is active and in their default location[s], or when both horizontal and vertical scroll bars are active and in their default location.

It does not happen when you scroll the scroll bar[s] all the way to the end of their default location [i.e. where they are when they are first created].

It does not happen if you have more than one file chosen [highlighted] in a zip file with multiple files. But it you have just one file chosen in the multiple files, it will happen. E.g., say you have a zip file with 7 files in it, left click on the first file at the top, hold down Shift and click the third file down to choose the first three files. Then click and drag the mouse in 7zip window, the cursor behaves normal. But if you have no files chosen, or just one file chosen, and either scroll bar is in the default location or position, clicking and dragging in 7zip will make the bug happen.

I'm encountering this glitch on Windows 10 64bit with a duel monitor set up. Monitor 1 is 1440p@144hz with G-Sync. Monitor 2 is 1080p@60hz no G-Sync.

Also seeing this bug with dual monitor setup, scroll bar flies to the far right of file details, and mouse is moved to the bottom right of my main monitor when clicking and dragging files.

Seems like this bug is fixed in one of the last Insider builds, it should be ok in next windows version (1803)

It still happens in v1803 beta 3/4/2018. BTW I found that with dual displays set up , the cursor will jump to the far right of the right screen [#2] if you have 7zip open on the left screen [#1 with "extend these displays" setup]. Can you please explain which insider build this has been fixed?

I saw it in changelog of build 17101:
We fixed an issue that could result in the mouse cursor suddenly jump to screen corner while mouse was moving in a List Control.

thanks for your kind reply. It seems to be fixed in the final release of Windows 10 [v1803] ok. Good news finally. I wonder ifor when Igor will mark this as closed. Or maybe not because it was not an 7zip bug as it was a Windows 10 bug.

Still experiencing this bug in 18.05 x64, windows 10. I actually came here looking to see if anyone had any idea about it and was surprised to see anyone say it wasn't still happening.

Try to upadate your system to windows 10 Version 1803 (April 2018 Update) codenamed "Redstone 4".

This was confirmed as Microsoft OS fail, if you upgrade to 1803 the bug will dissapear. I haven't updated because VPN, network and a lot of other things do not work on 1803.

Similar circumstance. Shut off auto updates when I got this machine, havent updated since 1709. Guess I'm stuck with this bug. Thanks for the info.
