One other thing on this topic, in terms of performance is there a big difference between: - Doing a query to find a page and passing n parameters to a template versus - Doing a query to find a page, passing the page to the template, and having the template ask for n parameters from the page when n is 5, 10, or 20? I imagine that the latter would be negligible if the found record is cached and accessed quickly, but my database experience is from a long time ago, and I'm not sure how mysql works. Subject: Broken "further results" link from inline query I'm migrating to MW 1.17 from 1.16, and running SM 1.5.6. I've got a pretty long query due to both search parameters and retrieved fields. The query works, but at the end of it, my further results link shows most of the query, cut off, followed by ". further results". It's behaving exactly like there's a maximum length that I'm hitting. Is there some new URL length check that isn't present in my working MW 1.16 / SM 1.5.2 installation? Is there a setting I can update to increase some length? Thanks - skew |
