SDCC should generate the jump on the pointer read (like it does for somne other operations, e.g. comparisons).
This would help reduce register pressure, and proabbly make the regression test gcc-torture-execute-20001024-1.c into memory on pdk14.

not sure if the RFE was implemented, but gcc-torture-execute-20001024-1 now passes on pdk14.
