nemesis, the ppc64 machine in the compile farm, shows quite a few host regression tests failing since the host compiler there was upgraded to GCC 14. These are not run-time failures, but compilation failures due to GCC 14 reporting more errors.

I see the same issues when using clang 19 on amd64.
[r14985] brought the number of failures from 22 down to 12.
