Hi folks: This is more of a high level use case question for the FC targets, I want to make sure I have my mind wrapped correctly around this. We are looking at how to provision multiple FC targets for users. The connectivity we have envisioned for this is something like this [ storage box with FC ] <----> { FC switch } <----> ( FC initiator ) Question 1: The FC target(s) is(are) visible over the FC connection, and not the IB/GbE/10GbE connection ... is this correct? I know there is work going on w.r.t. FCoE and related. Its tangential to this right now, but I presume we'd be able to leverage that atop the scst core as well (at some point)? Question 2: We can use FC8 as well as FC4 HBAs I presume? Is there any benefit to multiple HCAs for scst? Load balance, etc? Question 3: It looks like the Qlogic series are fairly well supported. Is there a list of supported HBAs and how well they are known to work? Question 4: Is there anything preventing us from having multiple FC targets per storage box, or mixed FC/iSCSI/SRP targets per box (ignoring performance issues, I am talking specifically about the scst core itself)? As I said, just trying to wrap my mind around this for some end user cases we are being asked to configure.
