I typed in the login information of an IMAP account to setup a SPAM collector
as you can see in this picture: https://app.box.com/s/tflvjbtyi060vovpwyqf8lgcnek1rnau
but it is always empty with 0 messages in the GOOD and BAD folders.

Am I doing something wrong? How can I debug this issue?

Are you moving files into it? Unless you manually move files into the folders for that email address, its never going to find anything.
